5.0 out of 5 stars This book made me feel normal
I could hardly put this book down. I have read all of Harold Klemp's books and this is by far the best yet. I felt his pain, his joy and his frustration of not understanding the workings of Spirit in his life before he became a Leader of a Religion. 1.0 out of 5 stars Recycled Autobiography of a Modern Faker
Save your money on this book! The entire book of "Child in the Wilderness" is in this so called Autobiography (including the introduction). The rest of the book contains excerts from "Soul Travelers of the Far Country." There is nothing new here, and Klemp makes it very difficult to sort times, places, and people out. I think Klemp graduated from high school in 1960, and...

I could hardly put this book down. I have read all of Harold Klemp's books and this is by far the best yet. I felt his pain, his joy and his frustration of not understanding the workings of Spirit in his life before he became a Leader of a Religion. I am in my 60's and remember experiences as a child and tried to tell my family of them and usually the response was one of smiles, saying that it was all fantasy or perhaps a dream and meant nothing. Harold validated me and my experiences.

The hardships of being a Master in this present day would be a mamoth ordeal for anyone and Harold Klemp with his deep ingrained committment, and love for God had brought him through to what he is today...a clear pure vehicle for Spirit. I can now imagine what Jesus and Buddha experienced with the frustrations of the consciousness of their time. I bow in honor to the beautiful writing which touched me so deeply. It soothed my Soul to read how Harold's life was so much like mine, feeling insecure, having doubts....wanting to trust God, but afraid. I may not be a Master, but this book made it seem possible for me to become a Master of my life. Thank you Harold

5.0 out of 5 stars Most significant Spiritual book I've read in 2000, August 9, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Autobiography of a Modern Prophet (Paperback)
At first I approached this book with disblief. But after reading further into it I found it written with authenticity, honesty and a large dash of love. I thought it would be self glorifying and another book about a self proclaimed master. Wow! I sure got a surprise. It's the best book I have read since Autobiography of a Yogi the classic bestseller by Paramahansa Yogananda. It gives tools, tips and techniques not given elsewhere. The insights Klemp shares are incredibly helpful. I felt like the book was intensely personal and readable. It is definitely not your typical biography. It is written for people like me who are on a spiritual journey looking for the truth in a planet full of hype. At first I was not sure about his path Eckankar but he explains things so well and makes you think deeply in ways that help alot. I have no problem with with his path it appears helpful and certainly appears well grounded. I recommend this book highly to anyone with an open mind who is looking to discover more about themselves and their spiritual destiny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! Absolutely excellent read!, August 9, 2000

This review is from: Autobiography of a Modern Prophet (Paperback)
I just received this book as a gift from a friend. I really have not read much in the spiriuality genre but this book caught my attention instantly. I simply could not put it down and read it straight through upon receiving it. The depth of perspective Mr. Klemp gives on so many different aspects of one's spiritual growth is excellent. His recommendation to use the word Hu as he calls it for a spiritual exercise is unprecendented by any meditation techniques or prayers I have tryed in the past. Although my experience with other approaches is limited, I immediately connected with the love surrounding me using this technique. Suffice it to say the book touched me deeply and offers a lot of tips, insights, and techniques for the novice or experienced individual. His insights from the sharing of information about his personal experiences are priceless. I cannot recommend this book more highly to anyone with an open mind wanting to grow spiritually. Harold Klemp's book is well written and very readable. I encourage interested individuals to treat themselves to the best read they may find this year!

This is the most sensitive, loving, and powerful story I've ever read. This account led me to discover hidden secrets about myself and propelled me along on my journey of achieving the most satisfying life possible. The insights in this book can strip away the complexity of the mind and lay bare the naked, raw, and simple nature of Soul. It is to love . . . and to love divinely. Out of that love comes the conscious awareness of how to create a truly fulfilling life. Instead of trying to escape into some fairy tale view of life, I now embrace the reality of life better than ever before. "Thank you," Harold Klemp, "for the help, and the love."

5.0 out of 5 stars If You Want A Dream Friend,You Can't Go Wrong With This Guy!, August 19, 2000

I had a experience today that reminded me of what Harold Klemp maybe writing about in his latest book. It seems like we all have invisible helpers secretly helping us all the time, but if we don't put our best effort in achieving a desired result, then we won't see the help that these invisible beings can give us in overcoming the greatest obstacle of all...which is usually our own shortcomings on our road to becoming a spiritual being worthy of God-Realization!After I nearly lost my hand in a potato combine accident Oct. 13, 1973, I decided to read "The Autobiograpy of a Yogi," by Paramahansa Yogananda while convalescing in a Morman hospital in Idaho Falls. From that book, I knew reincarnation was a fact.Sri Harold Klemp takes those kind of facts to the next level by showing us thru his latest book that finding out about God can occur in the simplest of things and need not to require treking off to a mountain or having a freaky accident in order to become God-Realised.In fact he makes a most startling claim! It's relatively easy to experience God. The hardest part is fitting back into society afterwards! Like what does one do after such an experience? Harold suggests many methods in his book, but obviously doing the best one can in serving others with the love of God shining thru your eyes even in the most difficult of situations is part of the ongoing therapy of staying God-Realized.Today, I did my best not to get angry over a combination of ridiculous situations and somewhat succeeded. Tomorrow I will do better while shining the love of God thru my eyes and heart. It's always easy to preach love, few live it like Sri Harold Klemp, Eck Master! submitted by Lee Roth

5.0 out of 5 stars A Realistic Look At a Man of God, November 11, 2000
By
This review is from: Autobiography of a Modern Prophet (Paperback)
"The man's a saint" We have all heard that expression. Everyone wants their saints and presidents to perfect. All perfect, all the time.

Anyone who's taken the time to research the "saints" finds they are hardly perfect, at least early on.

Harold Klemp lays out his path to God Realization in a down to earth straight forward way. He tells us about his life from down on the farm, to the high heavens of the inner worlds.

Chances are, you have your own ideas about how a person comes to God. After reading this book, maybe people will have a better idea how this can happen. We've all been jammed with notions about sprituality from, Hollywood, TV preachers, the government, politicians, and in general, those who like to keep us in a little box where they can keep an eye on us.

This book works for me. I found it very inspiring. On a recent trip to Kwajalein Island, I read a bit of this book every day. I tried one of the "spiritual exercises" in the book every day also. I was quite excited that I was getting some results immediately. By time I returned home to my wife, I was energized with a new love and peacefullness.

I hope you find something like this in your life.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Real Page-Turner!, October 19, 2000

This review is from: Autobiography of a Modern Prophet (Paperback)
I found this book fascinating. It is full of personal stories of the author's spiritual experiences, and there is not a lot of the mumbo-jumbo philosophy that I have read by other writers on spirituality. I usually wade through that stuff anyway if I can find a nugget of truth, but I didn't find any vague philosophical statements here. Harold Klemp just tells it to you straight, what he experienced, and lets you draw your own conclusions. I especially liked the stories about his out-of-body experiences, encounters with spiritual masters, and insight into his own future. The book jacket states that he is a spiritual leader, but to me he sounded more like the guy next door, more like a friend. A friend who had some pretty stupendous experiences.

5.0 out of 5 stars The road to God, October 9, 2000
By
This review is from: Autobiography of a Modern Prophet (Paperback)
Anyone looking for a role model of how to achieve spiritual realization in modern times will find much of value in Harold Klemp's autobiography. Through many examples and stories he shows the discipline, the total dedication, and the burning love that are essential to climb to the top of the mountain of God. One of his special gifts is sharing with the reader how to develop spiritual insight - the ability to recognize and follow the guidance of Spirit in all things. Another gift is showing us how the path to mastership can be woven directly into the fabric of our hectic modern lifestyles.

This is an open revealing candid look at the author, and his spiritual journey. He answers all anyone would ever want to know. Through his illuminating experiences you may find keys to your own spiritual greatness. He writes, "Along the way, I was learning that Divine Spirit will give us all we need." and "It is up to you to separate the bare threads of illusion from the golden ones of truth. Now come with me on my journey". It is indeed some journey as he shares how God's Love works, the mystery behind salvation, opening of the spiritual eye, fate's unseen hand, and the existence of spiritual teachers, guides, Masters. This is a no-holds barred, painfully honest book. Sri Harold has left no stone unturned. Akin to Lao Tzu's, "The Way of Life", and Galil Gibran's, "The Prophet". and Paul Twitchell's, "Stranger By The River", this book may inspire you to open your own inner doorway to God. It is a profound and loving treatise. Earn your spiritual wings everyday? Always another step in spiritual unfoldment? Are you ready to face yourself and master your spiritual destiny? Then this is the book for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars I feel cleansed from the inside out., March 18, 2001
This review is from: Autobiography of a Modern Prophet (Paperback)
While reading this book, I was intrigued by Mr. Klemp's revelations about Lemuria and the Book of Genesis. Every time read for a while, I would experience a spiritual healing.

My guardian angel Rebezar, who appears in my "Movie in a Book" during my character's Near Death Experience, is prominent in Mr. Klemp's book.

I also began to recall dreams of childhood, in the early 1960's in which Mr. Klemp's mentor, Paul Twitchell, taught classes. A shy child with low self-esteem, I always throught it odd that I would wake up knowing that I would be a writer, especially since I was a slow reader in elementary and junior high school.

Klemp's struggles with bullies in the Air Force is a universal problem and anyone who has trouble with power issues would benefit from the first few chapters of this book.

Autobiography of a Modern Prophet will enrich the lives of people of any faith and all walks of life.
