5.0 out of 5 stars You'll enjoy this book !
Even if you are not a parent, you'll enjoy this book. After all, we've all been babies - and this book offers a very funny perspective into how babies look at life. It's also full of great metaphors - I especially like the one about the importance of doors in our life !

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but you should probably be a parent
Fairly funny at times, it's not a bad book. But it does drag on a bit after a while, even though the 279 pages are a quick read due to very short chapters, few numbering over 3 pages at most (some are just one sentence). I'd say to get the most out of it, you should be a parent. We have a 1 1/2 year old, so some things hit the nail on the head. But other things don't...

I'd say to get the most out of it, you should be a parent. We have a 1 1/2 year old, so some things hit the nail on the head. But other things don't quite get there. I don't regret spending the time to read it, but I wouldn't forcefully recommend it to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very cleverly-written book!, July 31, 2009
This review is from: Autobiography of a One-Year-Old (Paperback)
This book was so funny! My husband was continually wondering what was so funny because there were times that I could not stop laughing. I would read it as my wind-down-for-the-evening book for just a few minutes every night, and I loved all the philosophy, wonderment, and compassion (especially for poor Smooth and Hairy) of the "author." It did really make me think of what my little one thinks of all the funny things encountered in this big world of ours! I do agree that this book will best strike a chord with people who have a toddler in their household; but it is so well-written that most people would find something in it that would make them laugh outright.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious., December 14, 2006

I picked this book up randomly and it is so funny. I laughed out loud throughout the whole book. It is definitely funnier if you have experience with this age group, and it hit home as I have a one year old right now. I find myself imagining my son's thoughts as the writer of this book now when he does things. Anyway, great read, very quick and amusing...great book for tired parents - it will give you a new outlook on some of those sleepless nights and food battles.

5.0 out of 5 stars HILARIOUS!, July 24, 2006
I was looking for some insight into my 1-year-old's mind...boy, did I get it! You will look at your child in a whole new way after reading this book, wondering what deviousness he really posesses and what is actually purely innocent... I highly recommend this not just for parents, but for grandparents, childless friends trying to understand the baby thing, or anyone considering having a child. A guaranteed laugh for all!

Rohan, Take a bow. This is your best effort yet.

If you wonder what goes on in the minds of infants, and yes they do have a mind that we all would love to understand then this is possibly the only book that tells you all even while you enjoy reading it.
In an absolutely simple prose the author reveals the thoughts of children during their first few months in our complex world.

The introduction to the fathers where the child on seeing his father wonders who is this hairy person is spot on and illustrative of the effort the author has put in to read the mind of a child.

This is not a parental guide but even better. Now I understand the antics of my toddler and have a better perspective of her actions.

This laugh out a sentence book is so good that Ive stopped reading the last few chapters as I dont want to finsh the book ever.
