About the Author

The author grew up in Ashland in Aroostook County, Maine, and desired to be a "writer" since the age of nine when she began putting her words to paper nearly thirty years ago. She writes in the "northern Maine dialect" and along with her short story collection, she also writes children's stories and poetry. She is proud to say that among her list of publications, she is the most published writer on the official Maine website, www.maine.gov

Format: Paperback
For anyone who can remember what it was like to be a little kid in the summer time, with sunny skies, warm winds, and the freedom to hop on your bike and go anywhere looking for the day's adventure, this book will help bring it all back. Aroostook county was and is a unique part of the country, but yet the similarities to other parts of the rural United States in the 1950's are all there too. Martha's characters show us what it was like to live in a simpler time, when technology was just a long word to know for the spelling bee.

I was given a copy of this book this summer and loved
it. It is a wonderful collage of incredibly funny stories. The characters are well developed and the author is a great storyteller. Her stories remind me of Mark Twain's writing, funny, witty and well written.

This book is great for all ages and I highly recommend it.
