I wanted to leave a scathing comment about Amazon's packaging, but they've mysteriously turned off the option to leave packaging feedback on this order. The book, as it is every year, is fantastic, so I can't leave less than five stars on the book. I have every hardbound issue of Autocourse, which is 1961 to the present, and the quality of the race reporting has varied some over the decades. It's excellent this year. What you should be aware of, though, is that Amazon seems to be trying to shave pennies off their packing costs. Instead of the book being shrinkwrapped to a sheet of cardboard, so it wouldn't slide around loose, it was just tossed in the bottom of a large box. A few of the air-filled plastic pouches filled some of the excess space. I think it's criminal to leave such a nice (and moderately expensive) hardbound book to slide around loose to get dinged up. By dumb luck, my copy was undamaged, but if Amazon is going to pull this cr*p, I'll start returning any book that isn't in perfect condition. This is the second hardbound book I've received in the last few weeks where they did this, so it's seeming like a deliberate policy change rather than gross negligence on the part of the individual packer. Just be warned, and return any book that has a dinged corner or a scraped dust jacket. If Amazon starts paying more money handling returns than this idiotic policy saves them, maybe they'll go back to the packaging quality we've always been able to trust.

Since 1990-91, I have been purchasing Autocourse and will do so till I am laid 6 feet down, this book is a great review of the previous season and also with it's fantastic pictures, makes a great book to lay on the coffee table or living room table (depending on what some folks call it) for guests to look at, my best friend, who also is a fanatic F1 fan, and his family come over he just picks it up and reads and looks at the photos. I use to order this book from Barnes and Noble and paid full cover price, will never do that again, and have found it way cheaper on Amazon.com and the shipping rates and fast shipping make it like actually buying it at a store.

Amazon.com also price matches and if it is sold cheaper on one of there many sites, I get that rate, you have got to love these guys. Autocourse writers are very precise and put in a lot of detail, the Car reviews are good but would like to read more about the technology and the mechanical part of the car rather than the little race info they throw in there. The Race review is like watching the Grand Prix's all over, very, very detailed and I love it. The other formulas at the back of the book are a nice read also, like to see the up and coming talent. The only suspect review is the Top 10 drivers, I think the British like to always rate "their local heroes" in the top 5 even though they really don't deserve to be in the top 7, I can only think of 1 driver, not going to mention Jenson Button's name, who deserves to be in that top 7 I mentioned earlier, the other "Local driver" was such a whiner he should have been left off. Other than that, this book is fantastic and will continue to support Autocourse as long as possible.

This reader is so grateful that Autocourse is still published. No more Rallycourse, so sad. This book is beautifully prepared and is both educational and entertaining. If you were going to read only one book about the GP, this would be your book. Amazing photographs and a book that will stand the test of time.

I have purchased this item for my husband who is a fanatic when it comes to anything about Formula 1 racing. After watching the yearly racing competitions throughout the year he enjoys reflecting back on each race. The photos are brilliant and the book is definitely worth the cost.

Always the best review of the season. Photos, technical analysis, driver ratings. If you want to know what happened in the season. Here's the bible. Nuff said...
