1.0 out of 5 stars Not for Fundes or anyone, November 2, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2004 Fundamentals (Paperback)
Regardless of the arthur this got to be one of the WORST WORST CAD book I read so far. No, I'm not the people who support the other 2 books on ADT2004 either. I always wanted to try Moss's book out since 2002.

It's so bad that instead of reading the book any farther I'm writing this review(complaint) and planning to give the other 2 books a try right now.

This book is not for rookie(or anyone). If u never or have little CAD skill it would be hell to understand even the very 1st exercise. Layout on every exercises are just confusing. Even for advance user of CAD(not ADT) like me have to retry every exercise twice to get liitle out of nothing.

Every page of this book is 75% blank and 20% photo and 5 % text and even with so little content it hard to understand. Good job on giving so little and charging so much on this book.

This book proves two things. You can't judge a book by it's name and price. Also not all expert can teach or write a good book.

I was hoping to write a good review for this book since I put sometime picking this book out of the 3 books on ADT2004 on Amazon. Look for my copy on Ebay within a week of this review.

Dissappointed

2.0 out of 5 stars There are better..., January 2, 2004
This review is from: Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2004 Fundamentals (Paperback)
I do not have this book - I have the 3.3 version so my reveiw is based upon that book, but from what I can see of the cover (same as 3.3) it looks like this author just updated the commands for the newer version. Regardless, the book for 3.3 was horrible. If you have never worked with ADT before, this is NOT the book to start with. Even though is proclaims "fundamentals", without a basic understanding of how ADT works and where the tools and commands are accessed, you will quickly come to use this book for anything but a guide.

Also, the price is *outrageously* high for something that was obviously thrown together on a word processor with little images pasted in.

Steer clear of this one and try one of these: Edward Goldberg's 2004 book (good), Paul Aubin's 2004 book (the best I think for all levels) or William Wyatts 2004 book (haven't used yet).

1.0 out of 5 stars Let the buyer beware . . ., February 7, 2004
By
Tony Burba (Evanston, Il United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2004 Fundamentals (Paperback)
This is more a review of the author's tactics than of the book, which I don't have. I find it egregious that the author "reviews" her own book, giving it a five-star rating in an apparent attempt to pull up her average rating - which even so is only 2.5 stars.

Her defense is also unconvincing. She criticizes the two negative reviews as being written by CAD novices, but I see no indication of that in either review. In fact, one calls himself an advanced AutoCad user.

I give this book one star to cancel out the author's "review" of her own work. I also hope someone at Amazon is monitoring these comments and will delete both hers and mine to restore the integrity of the review process.
