Elise Moss has worked for the past twenty years as a mechanical designer in Silicon Valley, primarily creating sheet metal designs. She has written articles for Autodesk’s Toplines magazine and AUGI’s PaperSpace. She is President of Moss Designs, creating custom applications and designs for corporate clients. She has taught at DeAnza College and Evergreen Valley College. She holds a BSME from San Jose State University.

I am completely new to AutoCad and Architectural Desktop (ADT hereafter). I was looking for a beginners' text to get me up and running. This is NOT it. Ms. Moss's approach seems rather random to me or perhaps I just don't know enough about AutoCAD to make use of her first lessons but they were very unhelpful. My biggest problem with this text is that her illustrations, screen captures, etc. do not match up with the software. About 3 pages into the first lesson, it is apparent that all her illustrations are from the prior version, ADT 2005!!! Needless to say, getting her examples to work in the 2007 version took a lot of exploration, not what I had in mind when I purchased this book. Please do not waste your time with this one. I have AutoDesk's tutorial manual and some books from other authors coming, so I'll let you know if they are any better. Now, how do I get my money back? This puppy was rather expensive!!
