After I was diagnosed with Celiac, Sjogren's, Fibro, IBS, and Raynaud's last year, my life was turned upside down. Every book I read said these are chronic diseases with no cure.
The only answer is medicine to treat the symptoms...and even these medicines would only work for awhile, and they all had side effects. I felt it so odd that 100 years ago there were hardly ANY Auto-Immune diseases.
There must be a link between all of them and there has to be an answer. Being the reader & researcher that I am, I eventually found this book and read the author's natural answer to all of this. ....It all made so much sense!
The research is all here, and the evidence too. This book is THOROUGH beyond belief. Explanations of what is going on down to the cellular level. So excellent. I started
implementing the food suggestions & actually, within a few weeks, all around I started feeling better! My brain fog is completely gone and my energy levels are on their way back. My IBS is gone. Each day I fell more like my old self.
I have a husband & 4 young children, so this was the most important part of getting healthy & well. I am so glad I found this book! This book gave me HOPE to get well, and it truly was an answer to my prayers!........Tamara Bell

Autoimmune: The Cause and the Cure is stuffed with information no one with an autoimmune condition should be expected to live without. Well researched. Well written. The recommendations put forth by Kirsten Urdiales and Annesse Brockley should be the backbone of autoimmune treatment by any reputable physician.

Annesse Brockley cures herself of a torturous, 10-year bout of Lupus after compiling an impressive collection of research that points to a bodies inability to properly process and metabolize protein as the primary catalyst in the development of autoimmune conditions.

I am following Urdiales and Brockley's recommendations and the impact on my own case of Rheumatoid Arthritis is significant. I began to implement these suggestions in June. My strength is returning. The constant pain, swelling and stiffness have decreased. The peculiar visual disturbances I was having are gone.

There is nothing freakish about the dietary recommendations. Raw, unpasterized dairy products and fermented foods play an important role, as do organic fruits and vegetables, grass-fed meat and eggs from healthy, free-roaming chickens.

Read an ecopy and then obtained a hard copy to review and review. I had two initial problems and found immediate relief from the pages and references here. 1. Consistent frequent daily heartburn - solution: organic sauerkraut and healthier eating habits - Immediately worked! Have not had tums for many months now after years of daily doses. 2. Arthritis - been riding bikes and doing P90x and developed significant arthritis. Could not put my shirt on and off. Went to doctors and was offered steroids. Knew that was not a long term solution. Read the book and called one of their sources for a herbal tea remedy and added a daily dose of organic tart cherry juice. No problems since. I am impressed. This is a worthwhile read. It just makes sense, especially after watching Food, Inc. Their research and effort to help us understand is highly commendable. Following the precepts in this book will improve your quality of life.

Over the past 15 years I have been diagnosed with one thing after another. I was beginning to think I was a walking Merck manual; GERD, Celiac, Fibromyalgia, Sjogren's, PCOS, just to name a few. Every time a new diagnosis came along, one or two more pills were added to my regimen. I was taking so many pills that I had a big basket that I kept them all in just so I could keep track of them all. I was really in despair and felt like my life was over at 34. I was alive but felt dead. I was tired and in pain 24/7 and my kids couldn't even hug me because it hurt so much. I was taking 4 hour naps every day. I knew this was no way to live.

I thought I was eating healthy. I ate according to the pyramid. I assumed I was doing everything right, but my body was betraying me. I thought wrong. After reading this book and learning how I should be eating I realized I was betraying my body and it wasn't performing because of the foods that I put into it.

I read this book 3 weeks ago. I immediately went off all of my medications (My husband is a pharmacist and he said it was okay... I don't recommend that course of action for everyone). I got raw milk and started to lacto-ferment my foods. Sauerkraut is a lifesaver for the GERD. As long as I eat it I have no problems with acid. I feel better than I have in years. I have much more energy. My naps are down to every 3 days instead of every day. I am a better mom. My body isn't in constant pain. I am truly amazed that such changes can take place in so short a period of time. My friends, family and even my neighbors have remarked on the change in me. I am so thankful for the man that gave me this book. I'm thankful for the authors who put in all the time to research and lay out the information in an organized and thorough fashion.
