more plastic than wood. but somewhat quieter than the all plastic cheaper model. it does not work well on a single deck. it requires some finger pressure on the left side cards before it will work properly.

I ordered this item and received in less than a week. Put the batteries in and nothing happened. I switched batteries and still nothing. I had been concerned about other reviews of card shufflers and knew I was taking a chance. I called Brybelly, the shipper of this shuffler and a very polite customer service rep listened to me, then said she would send out a new shuffler and did not want the non-working one back. I thought that a little odd. I mentioned something about what it was and why it wasn't working, she said she would talk with the owner and get back to me before the end of the day. I got a call back less than an hour later, suggesting that I put different batteries in it, as the batteries they send with them sometimes aren't the highest quality. Right on the box it says "batteries are not included" and told her that. She was a little stumped, then said they were sending me a new one and to discard the other one as they did not want it back. Within two days I got the replacement and put the batteries in-NOTHING happened. I tested the batteries and they light up the flashlight brilliantly, but would not even get a whine out of the shuffler-only me. No one has profited by this experience. I would not recommend it to anyone.

First one mailed did not work and was destroyed.
Replacement was promtly received and it took some doing to get it going. I would not buy it again.
