I just rec'd the minis as a gift for 4 y.o. son. He and his 18 month old brother love playing with them. It's the perfect size. I've had this for ~ 1 month. It appears that it will last through all my kids.
Other reviews seem accurate as to quality and fun, so I'll try to add new info:
Construction is of smooth wood and plastic. The wood pieces snap together with sturdy plastic plugs and grommets permanently set into the wood. All wheels are removable and the rubber "tire" (like a thick rubberband with traction grooves on the inside) comes off too. The axle for the tire is permanently fixed into the wood. The clear roof easily slides in/out without grommets or snapping but will not fall out if turned upside down.
The decals are painted on - not stickers. So they don't peel off. Great.
The plugs, grommets, axles, tires and roof are all color coded alike. That really helps me put the proper pieces together later. The set also includes 4 spare black tires.
It's a little difficult to pull the pieces apart sometimes due to the smooth wood, but once my son figured out how to grip it around the axles, he didn't have a problem. Among other things, it's fun to flip a piece so the wheels roll on the top of the car (it's silly) or rotate the roof.

Downsides:
1. The wheels & tires are choke hazards for my 18-mo-old. As expected; the toy is not meant for that age. The 4-yr-old also removes the wheels with his mouth/teeth b/c they snap on tightly. Not all children would do this, but just be aware. I have no problem removing the wheels by hand.
2. The wheels end up all over the toy room if the toddler is around. As I said, the set includes 4 extra wheels.

Overall it's a great toy for girl or boy age 3-?. I recommend the minis and like that there are 3 to interchange parts and interact in pretend play. This is the quality I want - and would pay for - in all new or classic toys.

My son already has a bunch of normal-sized Automoblox cars. He plays with them every day even though he is only 20-months old and they are recommended for 3+ year olds. I find Automoblox to be high quality toys.

I purchased four MINI Automoblox cars (red coupe, blue sedan, green pickup, and green SUV) so we can take them for trips for my boy to play. My son loves MINIs too. If he plays with MINIs inside the car, it is challenging to find small wheels after he takes them off and drops them on the floor.

There are two major differences (besides the size) in MINIs compared to the full-size Automoblox that I want to mention:

1. MINIs do not come with driver and passengers
2. All four MINIs use the same type of connectors for the wooden pieces (full-size Automoblox have vehicle specific connectors that can be interchanged and add another level to the puzzle)

It seems that the quality of the MINIs is just slightly below the quality of full-sized Automoblox cars. There are some artifacts from the manufacturing process on wooden bodies of the MINIs. Nevertheless, Automoblox are great fun toys.

My three year old son and I had been "window shopping" these products online for a few months before his birthday. We gave him several full size and several minis so he could change the parts around. And oh has he!

These cars are solid blocks of wood. The plastic seems durable as nothing has been scratched yet. We have rolled them into the island a few times but have decided not to "crash" them as they are just too nice. They are heirloom quality. No one will be handing these down so go buy your own!!!

My husband and I joked about a commercial where the parents put the children to bed as fast as possible, scrambling around so they can get back to playing with the automoblox. We were cleaning up really!

If you aren't satisfied with these products, nothing will make you happy.

I could go on and on but I think you should just by a few and find out for yourself. One is definately not enough!

(I only wrote to thank them for such amazing vehicles and to inquire as to when the white one and more minis would be available.)

The Automobloxs Mini Three Pack I ordered for my grandson's Christmas gift are wonderful. The cars are sturdy, well designed, and will provide many options for creative play. The interchangeable color coded parts will provide a variety of creative applications for an inquisitive three year old, while being nearly indestructible.

very nicely made product and very simple. Too easy for my 5 year old, but the two year old loves it and is challenged by it. Nice to see a toy that's not all plastic and very durable.

I got this package of 3 mini Autoblox for my 3 1/2 yr old son and he loves them. He has spent quite of bit of time mixing up the pieces to create new looks. The cars are small enough to carry around, especially the red C9. The cars roll very smoothly and are nicely constructed. They have been hauled outside for use on concrete and dirt and have held up well to a good cleaning afterwards. If you have younger children the small wheels and rubber tires are likely choking hazards, but that's my only con.

Recommended age for this toy is 36 months, but my 20-month old daughter was never a "mouther", so I wasn't too worried about her swallowing small parts. She was very fascinated by these cars, and she figured out the concept of pegs and holes surprisingly quickly. She was able to put together various cars by herself and entertained herself for 30 minutes at a time, a very long time for a young toddler. We might increase this collection in the future, but it was definitely one of the best toys for her in her second year of life.

I purchased this toy for as a gift for my nephew (age 3). He was a little disappointed in the gift only because he couldn't get them away from his dad and my son (age 9). They all really enjoyed making taking the pieces apart and creating new and different rides. I will definetly make another purchase.

These toy cars are fun to play with. I rated 4 stars because the plastic roof canopies do not snap in tighly; and one of the removeable rubber tires got torn in half (I superglued the broken tire directly into the rim). Maybe my 2.5 yr old is just too rough on his toys.

We got our son his first automoblox mini when he was around 2.5 years old. He needed help pulling off the tires and putting them back on. Then he kept dropping it off the second floor into the entry downstairs (not a recommended usage), and one of the wheels actually cracked, but Daddy fixed it w/ super glue. It got put away for a few months until he could resist the temptation to conduct more gravity experiments. After age 3, he had a blast taking it apart, putting it back together (all by himself), and driving it around. It's also helping him figure out what the different car parts are called. We've got a long car trip coming up, so I ordered this 3 pack to keep him occupied on our journey. I know he'll love having more mini automoblox to play with.
