Automotive Electrical Handbook,
This review is from: Automotive Electrical Handbook (HP 387) (Paperback)
Great book for learing how to wire a car from scratch. Although written in 1986 and a lot of references are made to kit cars and VW bugs (a favorite foundation for kit cars), this book explains how most things electrical work in your car, as well as how to create your own electrical system. Highly reccomended to anyone into restoring an old car or building a car from "scratch". Also get Haynes "Automotive Electrical Manual" to learn how to troubleshoot and fix a wiring harness, also highly reccomended.

I am in process of rewiring a 70s model car and this book is extremely helpful. Good fundamental explanation of electronics and automotive application. Written at a level that is easily understood without any background in the material. Skip the foundational material and go straight to the application if you like but I found the background key to understanding some of my rewiring problems. Short book, well illustrated, easy to understand and very affordable.

This book is for those of you that need to rewire your car. It covers basic automotive electronics and takes you through step by step rewire from scratch. From design to finished product that will please you. The author bases his models on early Pinto's and V.W.'s so if you have fuel injection, you might need Frank Munday's book.

I already knew this stuff but it was a great refresher, as well as a excellent info source for automotive applications. I truely feel this was money well spent.

After reading the first few chapters I believe that is a very good book for beginners and good reference for the pros. My intent is to rewire a 1954 Chevy truck from scratch. I have added many custom components to the truck that no existing diagram will help with. This book will assist me make the right choices as I move forward on the project and it includes enough information to build a harness from the ground up.
The book is slightly dated but is still very usable especially for what I am doing. I also purchased How to Diagnose and Repair Automotive Electrical Systems (Motorbooks Workshop) which complements this book.

This book is extremly well written. The explainations are simple and correct. I have begun to understand the logic of electrical circuits and their design purpose. The book has helped me modify my project car to suit my purposes without damaging the car itself! Not easy to do these days.

Basic book on electronics for cars. It's okay and on par with the one titled "Electrickory" (which is a touch disappointing considering the tittle).
