useful textbook
It is a very useful textbook. I haven't read through all of it yet but so far what I've read is really helping me survive my electrical class.

OK for someone with no electrical / electronic training
About two thirds of this book is dedicated to general electrical and electronic training. If you already have that training (as I do), then you should look for another book that deals more with its automotive applications.
