About the Author

Ronald K. Jurgen was formerly a senior editor at IEEE Spectrum, where he specialized in automotive and consumer electronics writing and editing. Jurgen is the editor of the Digital Consumer Electronics Handbook (McGraw-Hill, 1997), the Society of Automotive EngineersÕ (SAE) Progress in Technology series of books on automotive electronics (now being published), and their three-volume history of automotive electronics (1998). He is also an assistant editor of the Electronics EngineersÕ Handbook, 4e (McGraw-Hill, 1998). I was expecting a little more from a book entitled automotive electronics. If you are looking for a jack of all trades and master of none type book this one will give you an overview of most of the systems in an automobile but definitely not anything to do with electronics.
