An Interesting Biography and Historical Work especially for New Yorkers,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is the same Bernard Knight that has written in the murder mystery genre of more recent years, a book on the history of anatomy and physiology, forensic texts. Yes, Bernard Knight of medieval murder mystery (Crowner a.k.a. coroner series)is Dr. Bernard Knight, M.D., CBE and just all around good Welsh gentleman. He helped the failing (deceased prior to printing) Dr. Helpern, former Medical Examiner of the City of New York, write his biography and his experience of some 40 or so years in the M.E.'s office. A brief mention by Dr. Helpern of the "Slocum Disaster - 1904" helped me resolve some history issues of my old "Lower East Side" neighborhood. Dr. Knight helped pay tribute to Dr. Helpern, but also speak to many interesting medical examiner cases from NYC to Canada. I think that this is a worthwhile addition to the recent history and history of medical examiner in the various states, etc. which didn't allows follow similar rules of evidence, etc. I also think that anyone who has respect for Bernard Knight either as a fictional author or as a forensic pathologist would welcome this as an addition to their library.
