This review is from: Autotec 1:18 Scale Radio Control Ferrari F248 F-1 (Toy)
The actual expected product did not meet the presented product and just broke my grandsons heart when he received the car as a present. The car is slow to charge 8 - 10 hours per full charge. It has too slick of tires so it can only run on sandpaper surfaces. The plastic is very fragile and will break easily on concrete. Probably the best thing to do with this type of toy is leave it on a display shelf but it is kind of high priced for that so just avoid it entirely.

This review is from: Autotec 1:18 Scale Radio Control Ferrari F248 F-1 (Toy)
Perhaps there is a problem with running this car on wood floors, but it easily spins out in the direction in which the one power wheel propels the car, plus doesn't turn all that well. It is fairly zippy, but we have been reluctant to take it outside, as this RC car is relatively small and fragile, like a model. I would really consider this to be an inside car only.
This was chosen by my 5 yr. old son, using a gift card from my sister to him for xmas, and for the most part he's pretty well satisfied with the toy - as he wanted the car based mostly on it's looks - which are pretty cool if you like open wheel race cars (Formula 1, Indy, etc.). But for my part as a dad, I have a different set of criteria when deciding how to judge it for review.
My only real overwhelming satisfaction with any RC car that has passed through our household over the last 10 years came when my brother gave our older son a great RC car some years back. That one was super fast both backward and forward, (of the two controller levers the right one spun the right wheel and the left lever the left wheel - together was straight forward or backward depending on which way you pushed them), it had big wheels designed to be able to run even if it flipped over and was able to overcome most small obstacles like running through grass or over sticks, etc. and could take jumps with no worries of destruction. It was extremely durable even when the dogs chased it and batted at it - that car is virtually unbreakable. So there was the kind of bar that this little Formula 1 car was held against, and in that way wasn't something I'd really recommend to anyone with the expectation that they would have a fun, durable outside RC vehicle. OK for a little kid in the house only, but I'd look harder than we did if you don't have a 5 yr. old on your lap looking with you and wouldn't have to be swayed by the picture on the ad, though it certainly does look like the pictures show you it does.
Hope that helps.
