5.0 out of 5 stars An enchanting children's picture book
This book is 12 pages long (has six Autumn seasonal scenes acrss the pages) on a small (8 x 6.75") boardbook type format. Gorgeously illustrated in Autumn tones of realistic looking children engaging in real tasks/activites. This book is a treasure and in my house it is enjoyed by my one and a half year old to my nearly five year old.

3.0 out of 5 stars I wanted to like it
I've heard so many rave reviews of this book on message boards for parents who follow the Waldorf approach to early childhood. The illustrations are ok, cute pictures of small children participating in autumn activities. There is no story written here, only the one you create yourself while looking at the book with your children. The illustrations are ok, but I don't...

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for multilingual kids, August 9, 2011

My son is being raised trilingual (my husband and I speak different languages, in addition to English). One of my biggest problems was reading books to my son - most books that he has are in English. I often would have to switch languages on him, when he'd bring me a book to read. These books, however, have no text, and the situations that they describe are universal - hence, perfect for multilingual kids. I can talk about the scenes in whatever language I am talking to the child at the time, and am also able to present the same set of words in different languages.

The pictures are very detailed and realistic. There's also a nice progression in each season depicted. For e.g, autumn starts with children harvesting apples and chestnuts, autumn showers, and then family time indoors and outdoors, making preserves, etc.

The illustrations in this book are absolutely lovely. There are no words and being a board book that is appropriate. A person can almost feel Autumn in the air as they turn the pages and see the children playing. It is a book we will cherish forever. The delivery on the book was excellent and the condition of the book was excellent. Would recommend seller.

There is no story written here, only the one you create yourself while looking at the book with your children. The illustrations are ok, but I don't feel like they are so so wonderful as others have said. It is very short as well, so I'd have to say that it isn't worth the money. There are other autumn books that are more worth my time.

My family absolutely loves all four books. The illustrations are beautiful and timeless. The perfect books to add to any child's collection. I highly recommend them.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent series, August 28, 2011
This review is from: Autumn Board Book (Board book)
Excellent series bought a year ago and still a favourite with the whole family. No words but beautiful images remind us of the fun moments in each season despite the rain. Great for stimulating the imagination, providing a basis for discussion or activity ideas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful book!, January 7, 2009

This series of seasons books by Gerda Muller were highly recommended by other parents. I can't be happier with them. There are no words/plot, just engaging scenes of children doing seasonal activities. My two year old can't get enough of them. The pictures are so active and full of detail that they capture his imagination and he pours over the pictures and talks about what he sees.

This is a wonderful way to introduce seasons to a child.

My daughter and I enjoy making up stories to this book, but for some reason I am not totally impressed with it. The illustrations are cute and everything is simple; I like that. However, it just seems to be missing something. (Other than the words that is obvious! LOL)
