This book started off great. Poor Elinor gets forced into marriage by her jerk father just so that he can pay his gambling debts. It is presumed her aged husband will croak soon, but unfortunately, he lives for years and years. You feel sooo bad for this girl. She has to endure so much nonsense from her disgusting husband for the trophe he wants her to be. So many guys in the book fall for her. The only flaw in the book is that it took sooooooo long for the main hero and heroine to get together. It didn't exactly bore you - there was lots going on in virtually every chapter - but just when you thought your patience is about to be rewarded, something else happens. Pretty good overall, though.

This book was absolutely incredible! Anita Mills entertains you with believable characters who capure your heart. The book takes you in at the very beginning and holds until the very end. The way Anita Mills keeps the hero and heroin apart until the very end is great! She keeps you in suspense then gives you what you've been waiting for since page one. But keep that box of tissue handy if you get into the book as much as I did you are definately going to need it!

A romantic love story,

From the beginning, Elinor married an old man Arthur, she was there for him till the end. But her desire for Luce was so romantic I loved that romance. If you love romance in an exciting way this book is it. Anita Mills is a very good writer. Her writing goes back to the 1800's. Falling Stars is the next book to read. Two thumbs up!!!!
