Just got this single yesterday. Well, I like the song but I felt disappointed due to only 4 tracks (all club mixes). Where is all the Radio Edit?
List of the tracks are: (a) Album Version 7:06 (b) Jacques Lu Cont Versus Remix 6:34 (c) F*** Me I'm Famoous Remix by 8:35 David Guetta & Joachim Garraud (d) Low End Specialists Hollywood Mix 8:49 Would appreciate Amazon ammend the songlist before make any confuse by another buyer again. Tks.

Avalon - Juliet's magic isle?,
By R. P. Greenhalgh "Richard P. Greenhalgh" (Frome, Somerset, England) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)

This single is doing it big time in the UK at the moment, especially on the more dance orientated radio shows but also more generally, so I was more than surprised to find it unrated here.
Her extensive experience with "not quite what she envisaged" bands `1 Plus 1' and then `MNQNN' did not destroy her. Far from it, in fact, and it just to goes to show that wherever and whenever it shows up real talent can still shine. `Avalon' is a brilliant track and it is being heavily played on UK commercial radio, with Howard Ritchie on musicradio.com clearly a big fan. It is soon to be followed by the album `Random Order', which has very promising portent and could be something of a surprise in 2005. Another reviewer cites Jem as a comparison and I'd generally agree with that view in that they combine electronica, dance and pop in their orbit. Beyond that, and the fact you might like their music, they are not the same and are probably both happier for that! Such comparisons are as dangerous as they are helpful - Juliet Richardson is an American vocalist (she's from Philadelphia) - and as such should not share the exact same preoccupations or style as Jem Griffiths from Penarth (South Wales). If that were true something has gone terribly wrong but perhaps one day we will look back and realise that, just for a moment, we were spoiled by such a wealth of talent. I sincerely hope not. |
