beautiful watch!, January 16, 2006
My grandmother was recently diagnosed with macular degeneration, so her vision is getting worse. She absolutely loved this watch because of its bigger face and the clear voice that tells the time! I would definitely recommend this watch!!

Awesome Watch !, March 19, 2009
This review is from: Avalon Men's EZC Low Vision Talking Watch, Gold-Tone Flex # 2506 (Watch)
I purchased this watch for my elderly father, who is legally blind. His vision has been limited for about the past fifteen years, and he has owned many different watches made for the visually-impaired. Many of these were poorly-made and didn't last as long as we expected. At one point, he had a well-made Seiko watch, but apparently they stopped making their version of a quality talking watch. I searched the web and was surprised to find such a limited number of sources for these watches. This one seemed the best (and best-reviewed) that I could find, so I took a gamble on it.
My dad is thrilled with this watch!! :) It is very easy to understand and very intuitive for a visually-impaired person to set without assistance. Only two buttons are needed to set any function, and the watch verbally guides the user. My father said this is the only watch he has ever had that tells him the day of the week as well as the month, a feature he loves. I was concerned that the watch might have a "cheap" feel, but it feels solid and well-made. He likes the flexible band and it was easily adjusted for him by a local jeweler.
Regarding functions;
the top left button announces the day and date.
the top right button announces the time;
the bottom left button scrolls through setting all the different functions - year, month, date, day-of-the-week, alarm on/off, alarm ringer type, alarm time, clock hour, and clock minute.
the bottom right button, once a function is selected by the bottom left button, allows the user to change that setting to the one desired.
There are three different alarm tones available. The analog time display on the face is set separately from the talking time functions by simply pulling out the stem on the right side.
Shipping was prompt and secure. The watch arrived well-protected.
I would highly recommend this watch for anyone visually-impaired.

TALKING WATCH, June 1, 2007
I love the watch! I can see the time without using the talking device, however if I have trouble, wirh the push of a button it will teii me. It can also confirm what time my eyes think it is. I have tried other watches, but this is the best!
