A Kid's Review
This review is from: Avalon: Web of Magic #4: Secret of the Unicorn (Paperback)
This book was great. It was a little slow in the start, and all the action happened at the end, but it was still I work of art.
Three girls. All different, bound together by the stregth of magic.
Emily, a healer, has just moved from Colodrado to Stonehill, Pennsylvania, and she and her mom run a vet clinic. A natural lover of animals, Emily has no friends yet and sometimes feels left out with no one with her. But Adriane and Kara are sweet people, and are helping her through the difficult process of adapting to this strange school and place.
Adriane Chardaye is a Native American girl with flying black hair, black blothes, and a style of her own. She lives with her grandmother on Ravenswood Preserve and has the gift of a warrior. Strong, bold, independent and determined is the young warrior and a mistwolf, Stormbringer, to whom she is bonded with.
Kara Davies is popular, snobby, and self centered. As a blazing star she stregthens and cures the magic around her. Kara is snobby at times but can be a good friend- she is torn between Adriana and Emily and her popular friends.
Spinning a majestic web of magic, these three girls struggle to save a flood of wounded creatures coming from another magical world, Aldenmoor, and they must face evil and darkness and be strong. In this book Emily bonds with a unicorn, and struggles to understand and gain the trust of the mythical creature.
Together, they will defeat evilness and bring goodness- all to the mysterious world of Avalon. Read and share about there triumphs and faliures, victories and downfalls, and together weave a web of friendship and magic- into the world of Avalon.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Avalon: Web of Magic #4: Secret of the Unicorn (Paperback)
This book, besides Cry of the Wolf, has to be my favorite in the Avalon serial. It's colorful and catchy, and puts what we've learned in the last three books on the table. Emily: can heal animals and has a deep empathy with them. Has a close relationship to Ozzie the elf/ferret (???). Has a rainbow jewel. Adriane: can control things around her and can also battle with her magic. Bonded to Stormbringer the mistwolf. Has an amber and brown tigereye jewel called the wolfstone. Kara: We don't know much about her yet, but she can make other's magic stronger. Bonded to Lyra. No jewel--yet.
This book is really Emily's since it tests--and strengthens--her fate in herself and the magic, which we find out is merely controlled by the magic stones. The real magic is always inside of you, no matter what it is. It is this that she must teach a lost, hornless unicorn called Lorelei. And we also learn some shocking news about the vital web of magic--it's falling apart. And with the fairimentals missing...well, Emily, Ozzie, Adriane, Stormbringer, Kara, Lyra, Zach, and the Drake are kind of on their own. Can three girls stop an evil harpy from capturing the web's only hope of survival?
This book was exciting and well-written. Avalon fans rejoice!
