I have been using this program since its release, 96 or so, And have loved it. Have made over 10K invoices. Version 10.0 is absolute trash. If you have never used this product you wont know what your missing. But if you have, version 9.0 and under, then you know exactly what i am talking about. Ive tried to contact Avanquest, no dice. Ask them What happened to the invoice register from all the previous versions? what happened to selecting multiple invoices in this now forgotten register, for printing, emailing, deleting or any function. Sometimes newer isnt better and in this case its ALOT worse. If you run a business with multiple customers that use several accounts and often request invoice histories and copies, STAY AWAY from this program. Get 9.0 instead. The lack of a seperate register, the functionality has been crippled.

To the reviewer who bought this for her husband. Wait until your husband has several thousand invoices and everytime you select the invoice tab it has to load those invoices into the window on the left. Tell us how he likes it then. Why they didnt put "hide paid invoices" as default is beyond me. Rant off... Youve been warned.

im going back to either 9.0 or Ill start using my quickbooks invoicing instead. lets see how this company stands behind their money back gaurentee

I have been using My Invoice software for years. I recently "upgraded" to Version 10 and have since asked for a refund and deleted the program from my computer. Obviously, no bookkeeper was consulted in the design of this program. The reports module is a joke and the payments section is not much better. Although it is possible to create attractive invoices (if you work at it)this is the only bright spot of this software. The invoice register is just short of worthless. It is hard to believe that they could screw this up so badly. IMHO this version is a GIANT step backward. After working with it for a day I gave it 1 1/2 stars out of five. After working with it for two days I reduced it to one star and on the third day I lowered my rating to zero stars. Words cannot adequately express my frustration and my disappointment. Like one reviewer said it might work okay with a few dozen invoices but try to handle a thousand invoices and payments of dozens of invoices from multiple customers on a single deposit. I dare you afterward to generate a meaningful report that tells you who paid for what. It cannot be done. I rarely write rants such as this one but I rarely am enraged this much. My Invoices and Estimates Deluxe v 10 is worse than worseless. Wish I could have back all the time I wasted on it.

I should have listened to everyone who bagged this product...it's really bad. I have version 6 which was made by Elibrium. It works easily and perfectly. Unfortunately it doesn't work with Windows 7 which I just upgraded to.
Somewhere after version 6 Elibrium was sold to Avanquest . They decided to take what was a simple and efficient program and "make it better" patterning it after Quickbooks...why I don't know since that's another horrible invoice program. Against my better judgment I bought version 10 and am now returning it for a refund.
Where to start...when entering an item price, it only allows for only two decimal places. So if for example you're selling something for .1295 each it rounds it up to .13...That may not sound like a big deal but if you were selling a million pieces at that example, there would be a plus $5,000 cost difference to your customer. I would have to change over 700 price options on my website not to mention numerous price quotations just to accommodate this feature or more precisely lack of feature.
It's not intuitive, hard to use, not customable, and has a cluttered look and feel. One wonders who these developers are and if they have any practical real life business experience...More likely they're a bunch of Code Monkeys that add features just for the sake of it while making it more difficult and less flexible to use. If any of Advanquest's hirer ups are reading this here's a simple idea for you. Make Version 6 for Windows 7 don't add or change anything...If you did I'd gladly pay $100.00 for that particular program as opposed to you having to pay me to use version 10.

I also had a version from around 1996 that worked well for us.
Upon needing a new computer with Windows 7, we purchased the new version of "My Invoices & Estimates Deluxe".
I use the custom version for our business, and this absolutely would not work.
We spent over a day trying to figure this out to NO avail.
Called for customer service to get none. This software is complete GARBAGE as
several others have stated. Do yourself a favor and move on!

I have used this software package since version 6 and have enjoyed it. Every version gets better, until version 10! We had to upgrade to 10 for Windows 7 64-bit OS. Version 10 did lost A LOT of the improved features of version 9, such as auto-fill for the item number AND item description. Version 10 only allows for auto-fill of item description, which can be quite cumbersome to a company like ours with many similar products. Also, version 9 has a good auto-backup feature every time you close the program, version 10 has to be manually backed up every time. Not being able to sort or search the item register is a big deal for us, actually, the invoice register is GONE. What looks like the register next to the invoice isn't very workable! There are several other small things that we don't like, but are more preferences than problems with the program.

The layout editor feature is nicer in 10 than 9, but still doesn't allow for more than about 10 line items per page. It is easier to switch to multiple companies in version 10 than 9. However, that doesn't make it any easier to use.

I spoke to Avanquest customer service, who told me the developers would only make changes when enough end users had made requests to do so. I suggest we all send them an e-mail telling them to go find the version 9 developers and give them the job back, because they sure weren't consulted for this version!

If you really want this software, stay with version 9!

worked with windows 7 and email invoices works well I was happy with program. used older version 6 years ago then switched to invoices and estimates pro but would not email invoices using windows 7 tried upgrading to windows 7 pro and downloading xp virtual to no avail tried this product and it worked

I bought this for my contractor husband who is not computer friendly. He was able to install the software and create a very professional invoice and bid sheet with no help from me. He loves how professional it looks and easy to manage.

Easy to Install. The interface is a little different on Win 7, 64 bit. Previous versions not compatible to Win 7! I was using Windows XP Home Edition. Previously used a dot matrix printer for tear-off black and white continuous feed bills. Now I have to use a color ink-jet printer for the bills! Panasonic will not write a driver for Win 7 for the dot matrix printer. The invoices are pre drawn. You can add & delete text. You can move and create columns. Overall a very reasonable priced invoice for the money.

I recently started a small business, sole proprietor, and a friend who does the same thing recommended this program. I still have not been able to generate an invoice with it now a month later. I simply cannot figure this out. In my defense, I am a very computer literate person, but not so much the Word, Excel type programs, so I feel sure that if I had more knowledge of those types of programs, I might be able to figure this out. But I'm not willing to sit down and read the thick manual and slog through the process. I depend on myself being able to intuitively do this stuff, and this program is not intuitive. So I may end up not using it, sadly.

And if it truly does what it purports to do, it should be a great tool. Oh, well. Such is life.

I just had to join in on the reviews as I cannot transition to this version either. I have been using version 9 for years and got to be really good at it. When I purchased v10, I could not pin down what the problem was, but it was like riding a bike for the first time. I am a busy business owner and I understand that it takes time transitioning to a new software, but v10 was a joke. It looks prettier and maybe is a little more Windows friendly but I cannot adapt to it. It was preventing my ability to get quality quotes out in a timely manner. That sad part is that I lost my v9 disc so I could not load it on other computers. Now, I had to go pay extra to get the OLD version so I could actually train my staff. It was very frustrating. V10 was a complete makeover but added no benefit to me. Be careful if you buy this. If you haven't used this software before, you may be okay. Not a good move for existing users. I would pay mega bucks if Avantquest could come up with a version that could be loaded on a server so the whole team is working off of the same file!!!
