Great starter package,
By
This review is from: Quickverse Bible Premier Suite (CD-ROM)
This is the first electronic bible that I purchased and it is a great starter package. It is very easy to use and works well with Windows XP Pro. The PROS: Makes it easy to view several translations simultaneously. Has a reading plan that breaks the bible up into daily chunks based on your goals and time frame. (e.g., read the entire new test in six months).
The CONS: Doesn't include NRSV. However you can purchase this off of the Quickverse web site (I think $10.) I may end up upgrading to a larger version with more translations and commentaries, but that may be because I'm more of a geek and am curious than actual need :-)

doesn't seem to work on iMacG5--works ok on other Macs-UPDATED MAY15. '08,

I use several Macintosh machines.
Quickverse seems to run on new machines (Intel based), but not on older Power_PC based machines. I have contacted the company which makes this product to see if I can get it to run on my old machine (which is where I would really like to use it.) The documentation provided with the software gives a web address (URL) for tech support, but I didn't find any. I also couldn't find any FAQs for QuickVerse when I did a web search. Of course if you would like live telephone support, it is ONLY (gack) $24.95 for the first ten minutes! UPDATE MAY15, 08 NO RESPONSE TO MY CALLS...

Vista Issues - additional Costs,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Quickverse Bible Premier Suite (CD-ROM)
FYI - this is officially known by the Manufacturers Website (for tech issues) as QuickVerse 2007.
Vista users can avoid a headache - The most likely problem preventing installation is: "User Account Control." To get to it, go to Control Panel -> User Accounts & Family Safety -> User Accounts -> Turn User Account On Off -> Turn it off. It will require your computer to restart. Make sure you turn it back on later, because it is a critical safety component in your computer. The Bibles in this package are: New King James, King James, The Message, God's Word Version, International Standard Version, Darby's, Youngs, The New Testament in Modern Speech, and American Standard (1901). In fact, most of the specific resources (except for NKJ and The Message) that are included are those that are out of copyright. [Anyone for reading The Pilgrim's Progress or the Westminster Confession of Faith?] If you want newer versions of Scriptures or resources to incorporate, there are additional costs - some rather high. Two of the most commonly used Scriptures (NIV and NRSV) are not included, but were available to download from QuickVerse and incorporated easily (I paid for and downloaded both), but the total cost of these more than doubled my original investment in this software. I have been using this product now for a week, and I am impressed by how powerful the actual software is. One of the neatest features I have discovered is how easy it is to place your choice of scriptures side-by-side. While that may not impress you, a quick Copy and paste of those columns into your word program puts them into a table and keeps the format! The most fun aspect of the program is the "pronounce" feature, where you get to point at fun names and it will pronounce them for you. :-) The software also comes with midi files reading the entire scripture in two versions. While it would be helpful to someone with vision problems, the reading sounds like it was done by a computer voice, and it expresses no emotion (zzzzzzz put you to sleep). So don't count on getting too excited about it. I limited my review to three stars because while I feel the software is very powerful, I felt that the included texts were not particularly helpful.

Great for study the Bible,
This review is from: Quickverse Bible Premier Suite (CD-ROM)
I have been using the daily devotions and enjoy reading them. I also have this put on my PDA so I can read were ever I am. The navigation takes a little getting use to, but once you do there's no problem. I haven't been able to look through all of the features, so I'm looking forward to doing so. There are many bibles within the programs so you can choose the one that fits your needs. I enjoy reading from a variety of them. I purchased the Bible Premier to study more indepth the bible, and to have some questions answered.
Over all this is a great learning tool to use to understand and learn more about the Bible.

Quick Verse Bible Premier Suite,
This review is from: Quickverse Bible Premier Suite (CD-ROM)
So far, this doesn't look as good as a 10 year earlier version of it. In addition, I went through computer hell trying to install it. The worse part of this was that I could get NO HELP from Quickverse company to help me short of paying them $25 per 10 minutes! I could not afford this. Any other software that I have purchased ALWAYS provided at least one phone call for installation help. The upshot of all of this was I had to begin guessing where or if they had a web site that I could get some help. I finally found it but had to go through '20 questions' just to at last get some installation instructions. These instructions covered 2 complete 8.5 x ll sheets of paper. Then, I experienced many stones and stumblings requiring 3 reboots along the way until after 3 tries I actually got it installed on my computer, only to discover it wasn't even as good as my 10 years older version of the same software. Frankly, I'm sorry I purchased this program.

I like the software, but I had issues installing it on my PC. Fortunately, I have a Mac at work and could install it there. They sent me a welcome email with a user name and password, but I could not find any location on their website to login. I also tried to contact them via the email address in their contact page, but no one ever responded. I have never resolved my problem with the PC. In summary, I like the software, but it appears that once you buy it, you are on your own.
