Pro's: It's a pain for the squirrels to eat out of. Huge bonus considering that the squirrels in my neighborhood are really aggressive and would eat their way through a brick wall for a handful of sunflower seeds. It's very attractive and sturdy. It holds a very reasonable about of seeds- not too heavy but enough that if birds did actually eat out of it you wouldn't have to refill it every day.
Con's: well, these are kind of substantial. The perches for the birds are WAY too close to the actual holes they are suppose to eat out of. I've tried bending the perches out further but to no avail. The distance from perch to hole is about 1/2 an inch to an inch. Only the tiniest of birds would be able to utilize this and apparently I don't have any of those in my yard. Even the finches are too big to make use of it. Moisture accumulates in the bottom of the tube below the seed. There is no easy way to keep that clean. It's just a matter of time before it becomes mold central.
If you have itsy bitsy birds you want to feed (smaller than small finches) or you are looking for a decorative rather than functional feeder, than this one would be great. If you live somewhere wet (I'm in the pacific northwest so wet is an understatement) and have normal size birds in your yard, you might want to look at some of the other great options.I would purchase from this manufacturer again. The squirrels spent a couple weeks trying to figure out how to eat out of it and it took the abuse without any damage. The quality definitely exceeds the small price tag but the perch distance from hole is enough to make this not usable in my yard.

This item was shipped quickly and was very well made..like the metal sturdy version of the cheap plastic Walmart one..but with more style.
