Compact Dishwasher,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Avanti : DW181SS 18 Full Console Dishwasher with 7 Automatic Cycles, Stainless Steel Interior
This little dishwasher is great for apartments or kitchens with limited space. It has more capacity than a Frigidaire model that I replace it with and does a great job getting the dishes clean. For a household with two people it is the perfect size.

still waiting for it to work...,
This review is from: Avanti : DW181SS 18 Full Console Dishwasher with 7 Automatic Cycles, Stainless Steel Interior
Be warned that if you buy an Avanti appliance and if it needs service, that it will likely require a long wait for parts. I am still waiting for my new Avanti dishwasher (which was defective out of the box) to become functional. If the required part comes in on its backorder schedule, and if I am lucky, then I will have a working dishwasher more than two months after its first installation in my kitchen. I would not buy an Avanti product again nor would I recommend one to anyone based on my experience. I wish I had not been swayed by the sleek design and low price point. If I had it to do over again, I definitely would have paid the extra $200 to get a more "brand-name" dishwasher from a more "reputable" manufacturer. Then I would be washing my dishes and not staring at the stainless steel rectangle currently taking up space in my kitchen.

Horrible company,

This review is from: Avanti : DW181SS 18 Full Console Dishwasher with 7 Automatic Cycles, Stainless Steel Interior
I feel that I need to write a review about this company, not that I have been unhappy with the dishwasher but I will NEVER buy anything from Avanti again. My husband and I bought a house that had this dishwasher already installed and fit perfectly into our small home. Our daughter was 2 months old when we moved in, and although this dishwasher was very small considering the amount of bottles and baby items we needed to wash (not to mention our own dishes), we were perfectly happy. One year after we moved in (which would make the dishwasher just a couple of years old) it stopped working, and we had a repair company come out to assess it. There was a valve that needed to be replaced which they would have to order from Avanti... okay, so we waited. And waited. And waited.
Our dishwasher broke in June and it is now September 1 and I have no dishwasher. Avanti sent out the part for the dishwasher twice, which the repair company had given them the part number for off of our dishwasher, and the part that Avanti sent out twice was a part for a refrigerator. They insist that it is the correct part but the repair man (who has been in this business for over 25 years) said the valve just does not fit and it is the wrong part. Each time Avanti sent out the part and was called that it was incorrect, they agreed that it was the wrong part, apologized, and sent out another part... the same wrong part. Finally I spoke with the owner of the repair company who has been trying for 3 months to get the valve from Avanti, and his final suggestion is to replace the dishwasher and STAY AWAY FROM AVANTI. I must say I agree... I have a 15 month old at this point and feel like my live revolves around washing dishes by hand. I do not mind it as much, but it is very frustrating when I look at a dishwasher that has been wonderful but it's parent company cannot stand behind their own product and cannot send out a simple valve to fix the problem. It also makes me crazy that I now have to look at purchasing an entire dishwasher and throwing this one away, where every other part works just fine... it makes me angry that it is so wasteful. I would never buy anything from this company again. I think this review is important because it is inevitable that things will break and parts need to be replaced, but if you save money on the front end only to have to replace the entire thing in a few years because you cannot get the part from the company, I would suggest going with a more reliable brand in the first place, it will save you money and aggravation (not to mention hours of your life spent washing dishes by hand).
