In past 2 years I have purchased 2 Avanti machines, each one lasts about 7-8 months before it breaks. and then warrenty runs out. As I spoke to customer service of Avanti, they say "its unfortunate that it breaks, sorry to hear that" you can get it fixed, yes machine costs around $300 and to fix is $200 with change. They appologize that they don't stand behind quality but there is nothing you can do, so if you want and ready to buy Avanti on a yearly basis , it most definately lasts a year, I called mechanic only 2 times to get it fixed within the 1st year.
other then that, Avanti machines have another exellent feather, each wash takes forever about 30-40 min considering it's a very small machine, so its implied for those who have $300/year to buy on yearly basis and those who have plenty of time to wait for each small wash. Another feature i would like to point out is leakage from the bottom, as mechanic said "it's manufactured like this" it's non fixable, so in other words, once the wash goes on it leaks downstairs, it ruins my floor but the best part, if you don't like your downstairs neighbor you definately give them a problem of leekage from top.
when you speak to customer service, they are great with their responses "sorry unfortunately nothing can be done"

I have Avanti washing machine, that broke down after few months of service. For 3.5 months I am waiting to have it fixed under warranty. When I call them, its impossible to get to a live person. Will never buy Avanti product again.

Avanti W797 is wonderful basic machine as long as it works ok. I had made basic fixes "duct tape" to stop several leaks within first 2 months. After a year it had developed a major leak and ruined my kitchen floor. Avanti Customer service was unresponsive as other users have described. Would not recommend to anyone. $300 is a little too much for an appliance which lasts a year.

I own the Avanti W789SA washer and am quite happy with the machine. We live in a small apartment with a baby, so a machine was needed. At first I had reservations on the product as there were no reviews and the brand was unknown. As this was the only compact washer I could find that would fit in our small bathroom next to the sink, I made the purchase.
The washer has been in use for over a year with no problems. We average 1-2 loads a week because of the small load capacity. Clothes come out clean and there are no water leaks to the floor. Be sure to tighten up the hoses to the rear nozzles and use teflon tape. The workmanship is not a wonder in engineering but the machine performs time after time and is becoming a workhorse. Face it, a year's worth of no week end trips to the crowded laundramat for 3 hours is worth the 239.99 we paid for the machine. If my machine breaks down, I would defintely by the same model.

We bought this washer about two months ago for use in a basement efficiency in our house. We needed it to fit down a narrow basement stair in an historic house, and it did this with no problem. It was the smallest one we could get that had separate and permanent hot & cold water hoses.

HOWEVER, I was so keyed in on getting a washing machine of small width and depth that I didn't realize the height of it: It's relatively tall, due to the nature of its washtub (without agitator), and wouldn't you know it, it really couldn't fit under the stacking dryer and replace the broken Frigidaire washer there, not unless you were to pull the washer forward each time to open the top and load it, and, under the circumstances, being in an apartment, we didn't want the tenants to be moving it back and forth each time, and this would also throw off the "leveling foot", which helps keep it in one place.

It seems to work fine, with the caveats that you should carefully put down the spring loaded leveling foot to keep the machine anchored. Also, you must attend the machine for its entire cycle, to make sure that items such as sheets, nicely balanced in the wash cycle, have not balled themselves up and make the machine sound and look like it is trying to rinse and spin cannonballs! The lesson I learned is that more clothes are better than less for load distribution, even with sheets. Two sheets are better than just one for overall balance. The machine is light, like all the plastic crap is these days, and if it becomes unbalanced it will try to walk or galumph its way across your room!

That said, so far the machine has been good. Woe betide Avanti should this machine encounter any mechanical trouble. I'll talk about it right here!

We have been using this machine for almost a year and it is still going strong. It is kind of a pain in the butt to do your laundry in the kitchen(our only choice). But, it is much better to have this machine then go to a laundry mat!

Seems one should stay away from Avanti washers. Break very easily. Mine lasted for a few months of very light use, and it broke anyway.

I just received my new Avanti W797 portable washing machine today, and I've already done three loads of wash. I love this machine! I would say the only negative is the water hoses that come with it are very cheap and leak. Do yourself a favor and buy some high quality hoses from your local hardware/major appliance store (the kind with metal connectors). Surprisingly, this machine holds a lot of laundry (almost as much as a regular washing machine). This is honestly the best purchase I've every made. If you are on the fence on whether or not you should make this purchase, I encourage you to buy one today. You will not regret it!

Before I had this washing machine, I had another one.This one is better than my old one.
