I bought this wine cooler eight months ago to keep homebrew beer. It worked for about six months before it just wouldn't cool anymore. I contacted the manufacturer who referred me to the Amazon dealer (The Price Pros.). The dealer referred me to the manufacturer claiming they only honor a 30 day return policy. Three calls to the manufacturer to date have gone unanswered. So now I sit with a dead wine cooler and no support. Pissed. Drinking warm beer.

28-Bottle Superconductor Single Zone Wine Cooler

I have had the cooler 3 weeks. Very attractive, cools very well, BUT as others have noted with other AVANTI wine coolers there is a persistent "chemical smell". I have cleaned it with a baking soda solution as recommended by the manufacturer. The smell returned as soon as I turned it back on. Hopefully the smell will dissipate eventually and I will feel comfortable placing my wine in the chiller.

We prefer our Black and Decker. Too bad it;s no longer available.

This unit is noisy and it smelled like burning resistors for a few days.

While the thermostat function keeps the wine cooler at the desired temperature, the thermometer display is way off. We set it for 60. A thermometer in the box shows it is at 60. But the display says it is at 54. Annoying.

How long will it last? It's been around 8 months now.

The first chiller was damaged by UPS upon delivery and seller immediately shipped another one, but UPS failed to pick up the damaged one upon replacement delivery. That mistake took over a week to correct and many emails to seller, resulting in a less pleasurable overall experience.

The new chiller operates fine so far and keeps a steady temperature range after one week. The LED functions are a nice feature, but having to unlock all functions to turn on the interior light is a slow and very odd function that could be so easily changed to operate more conveniently, quickly and independently from other functions.

We actually are finally replacing this fridge after hard use in a (commercial)pub for about 8 years, no complaints, it is just starting to rust out, it is no longer evaporating the condensate. I can't say how quiet it is because there is always noise, but I never really noticed it. I just thought it deserved a decent review after my experience with it!
