4.0 out of 5 stars Good-- Follows the story line
Just got this-- it's pretty good. It is completely different than the first one. It basically follows the story line for the Earth book. Only two characters at a time play in the game-- you even get to be Zuko and Iroh for one of the episodes.
Note-- this does make the game more difficult...

For Pham-- I tried the crossing the falling sand for awhile...

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty fun, but probably not for serious gamers...
My roommate and I ended up playing and beating this game over the course of 7 hours, and it probably would have been quicker if it had been easier to bend. For some reason, it was very difficult for our wiimotes to understand that we wanted to bend. Most of the game was pretty fun, except for a few levels - like the timed one with the giant owl spirit that we played...

For Pham-- I tried the crossing the falling sand for awhile and couldn't do it, then realized you need to wait between consecutive jumps (so instead of pressing jump, jump -- press jump, then wait 'til near the end of the first jump then press jump again right before he/she starts to fall-- this gets you further to the next stone). Also-- on hard parts of the game-- it's easier if only one person is playing...

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun but hard, October 6, 2008

This game is a lot harder to play that we expected. The coordination of using both remotes and remembering hand strokes for different spells/actions takes some getting used too. Still though, we have fun playing it!

My roommate and I ended up playing and beating this game over the course of 7 hours, and it probably would have been quicker if it had been easier to bend. For some reason, it was very difficult for our wiimotes to understand that we wanted to bend. Most of the game was pretty fun, except for a few levels - like the timed one with the giant owl spirit that we played about fifty times because of said bending issue, and I am definitely buying Into the Inferno. Also, the two-player aspect really makes the game. There are times when it's better to play with one person, like when you're sneaking past the guards into the Bei Fong estate, but it's really much better with another.

The other annoyance is the angle at which the game is played is sometimes difficult - sometimes you can't see what is in front of you, which is annoying. But I would definitely buy this game.

This is a good game, but it has more fighting than I think it should. I like to watch my daughter play it.

I gave this game 3 stars instead of 5 because there is bad controls in some areas. There is an important move you have to do a lot through the game and half the time the wii controller won't register it when you do it!
Also, the cpu player isn't very good. Bedsides these two problems, it's a really fun game that gives you about 8 hours of game play. There are some mini games and extras on this game too.I would recomend this as long as you don't get frustrated easily.

I bought this game for my sister and both of us have really enjoyed it. The bending is a little challenging, but when you get the hang of it, it's a lot of fun to play as your favorite characters and explore the world of the tv show.

3.0 out of 5 stars wish it had the same number of chapters as the series, June 26, 2010

very fun but it has crappy graphics and the prompts are a bit tricky (you have to follow the prompt then hold the wiimote in place) into the inferno is better it uses the pointer instead of prompts or preorder the live action version to come out

2.0 out of 5 stars Great show, disappointing and frustrating game, September 16, 2009

My kids, 6 and 13, love Avatar: The Last Airbender, and we were excited to purchase this game. The graphics are not bad and the characters are the ones we enjoy from show, and much of the game is enjoyable. But the controls are the worse, least responsive controls I've ever encountered in the Wii or any other game.
This is particularly striking on the "focus moves," which involve pressing Z and moving the controller to "bend" the various elements. Apparently these moves are easy on other systems, but the Wii controller fails to respond to movements most of the time -- literally, the character just stands dead still while the Wii fails to pick up the controller's movements -- so that bending an ice bridge (one of Katara's moves) can take 100 tries before the Wii, by chance, picks up the motion.
The same is true for the scenes in which you have to make Appa fly: the controls are almost completely unresponsive, and Appa mostly just bounces around no matter what you do with the joystick.
The result is that a game that should be fun for the whole family ends up being frustrating and monotonous. According to various game sites, this problem doesn't afflict other gaming platforms, only the Wii. But for parents hoping to buy enjoyable and accessible games for their kids, be warned that this Wii version is shoddy and unenjoyable for kids and parents alike.
