4.0 out of 5 stars Some gamers are too picky
I only rented the game because I heard about the easy achievements, but I ended up liking it. I'm an adult female and if your wondering what kind of games I like to play just look me (laurapsyched) up on xbox and see which games I have completed or at least came close to completing. Yes, the mouths don't move when they are talking which gets kinda annoying. It's not the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Easy Achievements...
Unless you are a kid, or have a kid that really enjoy's this show...I can't really recommend playing this game all the way through. I won't say that is the worst game ever or anything like that. But it's just nothing all that special. HOWEVER!!! Let me just say that this is BY FAR, the absolute EASIEST 1000 Gamerscore points that you can get on the Xbox 360. In less...

But it's just nothing all that special. HOWEVER!!! Let me just say that this is BY FAR, the absolute EASIEST 1000 Gamerscore points that you can get on the Xbox 360. In less than 5 minutes, you will have the opportunity to have obtained every achievement this game offers, and adding a nice 1000 points to your Gamerscore (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/avatar-the-burning-earth/guide/). So, unless you care about your Gamerscore, or you enjoy the show...I'd probably recommend passing on this one.

Yes, the mouths don't move when they are talking which gets kinda annoying. It's not the hardest game I ever played either, I completed the whole game in a day. But I really enjoyed it and I think it would be a really good game for the targeted age and gender group as well as other gamers who don't think games have to be like Halo or that type.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and entertaining game on the 360 for young Avatar fans, April 30, 2008

My 6 year old son is a fan of the Avatar TV series. We play father and son video games on weekends together. I have been very selective about what games to expose him to. This video game is true to the Avatar TV show. The Xbox 360 version is absolutely beautiful on a large HD monitor. The character voices, script and soundtrack are excellent. The game story line is entertaining for a 6-10 year old gamer. My wife and I enjoyed playing the game with our son in multiplayer mode. The game plays smoothly and is fun.

This game is excellent for children who watch the TV show. Its puzzle solving elements offer a different type of challenge to the player, which is great if your kids are playing. It's a good because it keeps the kids' attention and follows the story line of the TV show. The only down side to it is that for younger kids (younger than recomended) the combination controls are a bit complicated. Check it out! My kids love it.

2.0 out of 5 stars All hail the king of easy achievement points., July 27, 2008

Five minutes for a cool 1000 points, no game can touch that record.

If you're an achievement junkie you probably already know about this one, but if not, Avatar has five achievements based around a hit counter. You get points each time you add 10 hits to your counter and said counter resets each time you get hit. In the very first level of the game you can easily obtain all five achievements.

Will kids like it? Probably... I don't know. I review with the achiever in mind.

Go forth and unlock.

3.0 out of 5 stars Easy Achievements but Bad True Achievements Ratio, December 25, 2011
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Avatar: The Burning Earth (Video Game)
i gotta give credit to THQ for being the first to make a game that is sold only because of the easy achievements. Not intended to be sold that way but...........well you get what i mean. 1000 points in less than 5 min. took me like 2 minutes to do it including load time. HOWEVER! for those of you who cares about your TA Ratio (to the achievements freaks and hunters out there...err..no offense), don`t play this game, it will affect your TA ratio greatly. Mine went down to like freaking 1.37 from 2 point something. That`s like from the top 100 to the top 100000. For those of you don`t care, it`s 1000 points in 3 min and requires a fund of 25-50 bucks on amazon.com

4.0 out of 5 stars fun but short, September 8, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Avatar: The Burning Earth (Video Game)
I really loved this game- the design is amazing, so detailed and the scenes are beautiful. You can explore the landscapes a bit and find secrets and smash things to power up. At the end, you can go back and battle the bosses again or there is a combat mode where you can choose any character vs any character. I really like the attack moves of the characters and you get a chance to be almost everyone- aang, katara, sokka, toph, momo, appa, zuko, and ozai. There are missions you have to go on where they will give you a choice between either character and you can switch between them anytime and you'll have to to accomplish certain missions. As you go, you'll learn combo attacks and each character has an awesome special attack. My only real beef with this game is that it is short. I finished the whole thing in a few days. Otherwise, it is pretty easy. The characters will give you hints if you get stuck but you probably won't. Some of the bosses were a bit difficult. Overall, I thought it was really well done and very fun to play.

1.0 out of 5 stars Only one reason to buy this game + 1000GS, August 24, 2011

I actually thought I might play this game, not just farm it for an easy 1000GS... But after trying to play the game, I just couldn't... So I started mashing away and few minutes later had my easy cheesy 1000GS. I promptly turned around and sold it and recovered some of my money. I've since decided to stop being such a floozy when it comes to GS.

I'll be honest...you're only gonna play it for achievements unless your 6 years old or younger. The game handles pretty well on its own as a beat em up platformer.

3.0 out of 5 stars Easiest 1,000 Gamerscore Ever, January 2, 2010
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Avatar: The Burning Earth (Video Game)
I bought this game because I had heard it was the easiest 1,000 gamerscore you could get. It did not disappoint; I received the full thou in less than 1 minute. There are several videos on YouTube that show exactly how to do this.

If purchasing this game I would not recommend paying the ridiculous retail price that is listed. Your best bet is to buy used, but even then it's still a bit overpriced in my opinion. You might save more money getting the game used from your local video game store.
