From the mists of Pandora... It's the new JAKE SULLY ACTION FIGURE!
With POWER WHEELCHAIR GRIP!
Have him FIGHT OFF INSULTS about his handicap!
Or MOPE AROUND THE GARAGE waiting for his turn as an Avatarrrr!!!
(Acting ability not included...)

My 11 year old daughter loves this toy. She uses it all the time. Sam Worthington is her favorite actor. She just got it and hasn't used the web cam yet. Yes, he can come out of the the wheelchair. He can be posed into many different positions.

As soon as my Avatar Amp suit showed up, I knew a clone trooper would look stupid in it. So, I shopped around for something that would look great in it. I ended up between buying Jake Sully and the Colonel Miles Quaritch. And JS won, hands down. ( I didn't buy Quartich, mainly cause I hated his character in the film.) Now about Jake Sully.

Pros: The figure has great detail and really does look like Sam Worthington.
He also has awesome articulation.

Cons: He is very overpriced.
I don't care for the I-tag and the figure would probably cheaper without it.

He is now inside the Amp suit and really looks cool. He was only the 4 inch figure of Avatar, that interested me. So, pick him up and don't worry about buying the other figures in the line.

What comes in the box:

Action figure
Wheelchair
Motion i-Tag

Software:

Download software from [...]

The software is a short and simple download. The website is flashy although, it is not well organized. It took me a while to find where I can utilize the i-Tag. The steps are the following: 1) Download the software 2) Link to the specific toy that you have under the "See Toys and i-Tags"bar in the top right hand corner of the screen. 3) Show the tag on the webcam screen. What seemed to be misleading is that I thought that we would have a "virtual action" figure. Instead, there is only 1 3D image and the images can be of anything like a Wisp or the floating mountain range. For a Macbook Pro user with the camera at the top of the notebook's screen, you really cannot lay the Tag flat as they show on the example video.

The Figure:

The figures are easy to pose. The neck turns, the waist twists, the hips abduct, the knees/elbows/ankles flex, and the forearms/lower legs rotate. The hands have set "grips" but hold the accessory "OK" but not great. The action figure seems very fragile in the sense and for very young users, it is likely going to break easily. Unlike the Na'Vi, the human action figures do not have any limitations in their range of motion. Since this is all make believe, we prefer to play with Jake, without his wheelchair. He has no weapons, though.

The i-Tag is useless for this particular character.

PROS

Highly detailed
Articulations are more detailed and have great range of motion

CONS

i-Tags are a bust
Durability is better than the Na'Vi version

CONCLUSION

This is still a fun action figure for my daughter. She wanted me to give 5 stars. I took one star away for the disappointing i-Tag.
