... and unless you do, you're an ***hole. Everything you deny makes you die." So begins one of my favorite songs on "Avec Reacher, C'est Plus Sur" (transl: "With Reacher, You're in Better Hands.") There's not a lot of music out here in this wide world describing itself as "amateur nihilism in electro-acoustic country drag," but if you've ever wondered what that might sound like, and if you've ever wanted to hear a one-man band sing bouncy lurid songs 'bout vampires, death, the existence or non-existence of serendipity, and the stupidity or non-stupidity of true love, here's your chance. The songs work: they're well-crafted & weird, funny & disquieting, strange dark distillations of smoky barroom time and knob-twiddling lab time. They're Texas-nomad messages from the heart of darkness; they're the songs mayonnaise culture never brought to you; and they're good menacing fun.
