Amazing all-around shampoo,
By MLRapp (NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Aveda Shampure Shampoo (Misc.)
While it seems these days that most shampoos have a specific purpose (ie- volumizing, de-frizzing, curl-enhancing, color-protecting, etc.) this one is an amazing all-around shampoo, wonderful for daily use for all types, colors and styles of hair. The smell is incredible - truly invigorating to wake up to in the morning shower. It doesn't leave any buildup or residue as many shampoos often do, so you don't have to worry about switching your shampoo every few weeks. Its a great classic which I hope stays around forever- I'll remain a loyal fan!

No Detergent,
By DianeZee (New York City) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Aveda Shampure Shampoo (Misc.)
This is a great shampoo with a lovely scent. I tend to try a lot of shampoos and end up going back to Shampure all the time. It's one of the few shampoos that doesn't seem to strip my hair. And the conditioner is great as well. I have very thick and wavy hair, about mid-length, and when I use this shampoo, my hair always feels and smells wonderful. However, the most important reason that I keep buying Aveda Shampure is because it has no detergent in it. If you have itching after you shampoo, you might be allergic to the sodium laureth sulfate which is a detergent ingredient in all shampoos. Organic shampoos usually don't have this ingredient but always read the label to make sure. Your itching will go away once you get rid of the sodium laureth sulfate. Some other organic shampoos that don't have this ingredient are Kiss My Face, Jason and EO.

Great Product - Bad Prices,

I personally love all the Aveda products and highly recommend any of them. But save your money and go directly to Aveda's website. Buy it from them and you'll definitely spend a lot less (and they offer free shipping for $50+ orders). Or save on the shipping altogther and find an Aveda salon in your local area and buy it from them. There's a locator guide on their website. They typically charge the same as the corporate website.
