Aveeno makes great products, and this sunscreen works well, but--if you are active and don't shower after a long humid day, this sunscreen will give off a sour smell.

I really liked this sunscreen when I first started using it. The application is smooth, the texture pretty good, scent is pleasant. It doesn't make my face pasty white or greasy, and stays put well for the most part. I have used it several times playing sports and it offered good protection. However, this stuff breaks me out badly, and I tend not to get breakouts from sunscreen. It's a pity since otherwise I really like this product.

My dermatologist recommended this sunscreen. I was out in the sun, working in the garden over the weekend, and usually, no matter what sunscreen I use, my nose burns (it's a bit turned up). I am fair-skinned (Irish). I had not one bit of burn on my face...it was wonderful! I use this product as a moisturizer now daily and it works great. I also had problems before with developing little bumps under the skin, and my dermatologist promised that this product would not produce these.

I use this filter soles for years, and I really like him because he does not cause allergies, leaves no oily skin and protects throughout the day.

Apparently the reviews for the SPF-55 and SPF-70 are lumped together. This review is for SPF-55.

I didn't have trouble rubbing it in--maybe the SPF-70 is harder to rub in. It does not irritate my eyes and even though I normally buy unscented everything, the scent of this does not bother me and soon dissipates. I have not gotten burnt or had noticeable sun exposure while using this: Aveeno Active Naturals Continuous Protection Sunblock Lotion SPF-55, 4-Ounce Tube. It does make my face sweat a little if I am vigorously exercising but it is much less noticeable on my face than other sunscreen I've tried.

After using it several times, I began to experience a slight stinging sensation a hour or more after applying it so I quit using it. I found another sunscreen that does not sting at all, even on the same day after I had experienced stinging earlier with the Aveeno. Unfortunately this other sunscreen leaves my face pretty shiny so I don't use it for daily use, just at the pool or beach: NO-AD Kids Gentle Sunblock Lotion, SPF 50 16 fl oz (475 ml)

I never did go swimming with the Aveeno on, but the NO-AD Kids Gentle Sunblock Lotion, SPF 50 16 fl oz (475 ml) worked fabulously for that. I was particularly looking for a facial sunscreen that won't run into my eyes and sting, or wash off from swimming. But I also wanted something I could apply every day. Maybe one product can't do it all.

My entire family used Aveeno sun screen on our vacation. We applied it to our faces, arms and legs. By the 2nd day the areas we had applied sun screen to were covered in red itchy hives. We had to take benadryl for 4 days to combat the itching. After day 5, the itching is gone but the hives are still present. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!!!
