I was looking for a flexibly designed stand for my gemological studies & this item fits all of my needs! I can analyze minerals, rocks, gemstones. Study larger objects with micro- / macro-photography, and photograph watches using a micro-cam or web-cam, whichever best fits the task. The adjustment track is sturdy, the x- & y- axes adjustments work smoothly, and the sub-stage lighting is adjustable for intensity and has long-lasting LED bulbs. I can also take this stand with me for "outside" presentations, as the software for the micro-cam allows the exporting of the images to a photo editing program and then easily projected or imported to a "Powerpoint" format. I just am so very satisfied with this purchase!!!

Not a professional stand but for the money it works well, allows me to microposition right and left and adjust the camera to subject distance of my Aven USB microscope camera. The backlight is OK, not great, LED based. With the light off you can use the stage to hold small items like stamps and such. With the backlight you can photograph translucent items in microscope slides. Or, you can use the back light to literally backlight opaque items and put a warm glow around them.

Extra smooth and precise adjustment in three axes. Quick to assemble, heavy and stable. Bottom lighting is dimmable and more than adequate for viewing interesting pond water and stuff on slides. For solid objects, plenty of room to set them. I do jewelry, gemstones with a Celestron 44302. Simple to mount a ring facing up with a glob of artist's putty on the glass, and the stand raises the microscope plenty high to view at low power.

It's worth twice the price.

It is really just OK as it is made of plastic and does what it should but nothing to rave about. You need something like this if you are going to use the small hobby sized digital microscopes like the AGPtek USB 800X microscope. It does have a light in the bottom for transmission of light that uses two AAA batteries. I did not use that as the light from the microscope is plenty.

This stand is a good value for the cost. It is not as smooth as the expensive stands but it works well enough for the scope. The X-Y adjustments are much smoother and more precise than the up-down Z adjustment.
Base is heavy enough to be stable in use. It clamps my Aven camera holding it in place.

The led back light provides sufficient lumens for my use. I like the LEDs on the stand and on my camera because they emit a broad spectrum of light, thus rendering more true colors from the viewed object.

The stand that came with my digital microscope was nearly useless for detailed scientific work, and while this stand cost more than the microscope itself, it turned an otherwise useless device into a scientist's dream device.

If you have the Aven microscope, this stand is a must. It is a bit expensive but it will hold the microscope securely and it is easy to adjust the height. I only wish it was a little longer so I can zoom out more.

Exactly what I needed for my Celestron 44302-A digital microscope. This is NOT a jack for your car, but a fairly light-weight, well-conceived stand with rack-and-pinion z-axis adjustment. There were a couple of very minor problems, easily fixed: (1) the carrier for the microscope body did not fit smoothly onto the support rod. This was due to presence of a couple of burrs from the casting process in the carrier body, and was fixed with a sharp x-acto knife and some gentle carving, and (2) the pinion drive shaft is apparently not exactly linear, tending to bind a bit at certain angles of rotation. I deal with this by gently supporting the carrier while turning the pinion (gently! it would not be difficult to strip a section of the pinion gear.) Fine focus is done with the focus wheel on the Celestron. I recommend a very light lubrication with a dry lubricant on the sliding part of the camera support. The LED back-light would be great for viewing pond scum, etc. but I use mine for viewing coins, which are generally not too transparent. I'm delighted with this tool.
