I use hemostats for cloth doll making - these are terrific for getting the stuffing into small places. Because I stuff firmly, the plastic grips are a lot easier on the hands, too. This is my first pair with the slight curve, and though I'm still adapting to them, I can see where that will also be a helpful feature.

I thought this hemostat was so good. The rubber coating on the grips are awesome and I had no trouble opening them. I ordered these on Aug 17,2014 and quickly received my order.

Here it is a little over ten days later and they broke!!!! I was lightly pulling on a piece of fabric to fix a twist in the rag rug I was twining and the tip broke off at the base !

I realize these were not expensive and I was not using them for medical purposes but you would not think they would brake so easily.

I also wonder if this was just a bad batch.

I could not find a way to contact seller to see if they will replace. If I'm able to and they can fix my problem ( replace) I will update and change my review.

As I said I really liked these...at first.

we bought this on the recommendation of our vet. It's a great tool for plucking ear hair from dogs that don't shed. Try it some time :)

Customer service is great--received a replacement for the first pair very quickly after reporting that the first pair would not open. The second pair is exactly the same--WILL NOT OPEN. Both hemostats appear to be welded shut at the handle joint. I may request one more replacement if quality control will ship them only after ensuring that they OPEN.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I use these for sewing (turning fabric in tights areas - such as the arms/legs in doll-making). For that purpose, these things changed my life. One star off for the difficulty opening them, it would be nice if it was slightly easier, however it is possibly related to the fact that they were not REALLY made for the specific purpose of turning sewing items! Absolutely ADORE them and unsure exactly how I would go about sewing dolls without them now :)

Very well built for the price. Tips align well, the surface finish is fine, the clamping action works well and releases cleanly. For the kinds of things I'll be using it for (clamping small hoses, threading rope, etc) I can't imagine what I would gain by spending more for a better quality unit, unless it turns out that durability is a problem. Only time will tell on that.

It took me far too long to figure out what these things were called, my searches for just plain ol' "forceps" wasn't turning up exactly what I wanted. I got my philtrum pierced in November, that's the little dip above the bow of yer lips, and I COULD NOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME GET THE JEWEL TOP OUT OF MY POST. I went to my piercer and begged him to help me out, but he only changed the jewel for me, and tightened it back up after charging me ten bucks. Well, I ain't made of money, and although my piercer is a dime in his own right, I bought these for less than he was charging me! Got them shipped the next day, and wow, they're much nicer than anticipated! They open easily, the weight is nice, "made in Pakistan" is stamped on the metal and the manufacturer is stamped on the other side; pretty good deal. Just douse them in alcohol and they're ready to go!

Marginal. Quality is fairly low, and they're made in Pakistan....from the polishing on them to the fact that the serrations at the tip don't line up (which means they don't close as much as you would expect), I wouldn't buy again. Not sure if I got a bad pair or what - other reviews say tips line up good, but that's not the case with mine.
