Biography

The members of Avenged Sevenfold were well into work on the album of their lives. Then, in an instant, their lives changed. The Rev had died. They hadn’t just lost their drummer. They’d lost a family member – a guy who was best friends with vocalist M. Shadows since second grade in the Orange County town of Huntington Beach, and with guitarist Synyster Gates since fifth grade. The Rev had… Read more in Amazon's Avenged Sevenfold Store

Editorial Reviews

MVI plus CD version. ''We made this record for the 18- to 25 year-old kid who just wants to blast some heavy shit out his window - something you can groove to and rock out to that means something. There's no glitz or glamor - just a heavy-hitting record that encompasses all of Avenged Sevenfold. It's a record that new fans and old fans will love.'' -M. Shadows. The debut major-label album from Avenged Sevenfold (aka A7X), 2005's City Of Evil, earned gold (817,640 copies sold to date), shot to Top 30 Pop and won the band Best New Artist at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards. For the selftitled follow-up, the band gets even harder and heavier. Avenged Sevenfold, the group's first album to be self-produced, is head-banging heaven.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely amazing-the best rock album in years, March 3, 2009

These guys are incredible musicians, and it shows on this album. The whole album is a trip, from beginning to end. The MVI is especially cool, because the behind the scenes look at making the album is just as slick as the album itself. Highly recommended for A7X fans, as well as for those looking for a new source of musical inspiration. Nice work, boys.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Metal Album I've heard in quite a while., January 31, 2008

I'm usually reluctant to buy a whole album as it seems that after you listen to the popular songs that initially hooked you from the radio the rest of the album is boring filler material. BUT NOT THIS ONE, this is excellent from start to finish. This band has such versatility you will not get bored; their style changes from song to song. The lyrics are intelligent and well thought out. I am greatly impressed. This is an album for every metal heads collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Avenged Sevenfold - Self titled album (The Black and White Album) w/ MVI, December 16, 2008

This album...I can't say I don't like one of the songs on it. I must have listened to it everyday since I got it. When you listen to it, you can't not rock out to it. The beats make you wanna move and the way they recorded it is just amazing. They add in some things you'd never think of and it makes the album awesome. The video content makes you feel included, and is absolutely HILARIOUS!!! The band seems really close and awesome, makes me wanna see them live even more. HIGHLY recommend!!!
