Had the stand for three day now and I will have to say it works great well made and should last a life time. It's able to hold me Einstein and soft box with no problem. Pricey compared to some but build quality is top notch.

I've been searching for a decent boom setup for a while. Unfortunately, I made the same mistake some other aspiring photographers made and I bought gear at a lower price and quality point than needed. I bought a boom and reflector holder from another company that sold for somewhere in the range of $100-$120. To be honest, I don't remember the exact price because it has been some time ago. After I purchased it, I became very unhappy with it and it became relegated to occasional use because I couldn't trust it to be durable enough. With a Westcott Apollo Mono 28in softbox and a flash it would sag, no matter how hard I torqued down on the handle to lock it in place. Not so with this Avenger set up. It simply stays put. Yes, it is heavy, but sometimes, when you have people who are paying you money to get a job done, you just can't work with inferior products and the extra heft of the Avenger stand and boom combo gives me confidence my gear isn't going give me problems (I'll leave that to myself. ; If you can afford the money, get this set up. You will not regret it. The only other addition you might need for it is the baby pin to go make it easier to mouth umbrella stands and such to it. And possibly, if you need it, a longer extension arm. Other than that, I love this. I took photos of my newborn baby son recently and there is no way I would have trusted my prior boom to hold a light over his tiny little body. I did with the Avenger and it worked flawlessly.
