A good tool for those with dexterity issues
on June 16, 2013
As mentioned in other reviews, the Avenger adapter is a fairly good tool when it comes to assisting you in your gaming adventures. As noted, it is better utilized in first person shooters (FPS), for those seeking an advantage in quick trigger and button reflexes. As for other game genres, such as racing, sports, adventure, etc., the amount of hand cramping that inevitably results in using this adapter for long periods of times is not worth the advantages gained (such as faster firing and reloading); I took off the adapter for these games. You can customize the sensitivity of the controller to the point where the triggers and buttons are basically on auto-fire, which is nice if you find yourself constantly holding down the L or R triggers (once again, for FPS).
While I enjoyed using this device, I am scoring it lower because of it's durability. As mentioned in earlier reviews, the parts tend to break over prolonged usage. I have used the adapter for less than a month before the trigger arm for the B button snapped (see customer images). While it is still usable, I do not think that I'm supposed to have to super glue a part back together in one month of moderate, adult usage. I did follow all directions and warnings concerning this trigger arm specifically, but I still came home to find it snapped (it happened when I wasn't even using it).
