More About the Author

New York Times bestselling author Dana Marton writes about smart, strong women and the alpha heroes they love, especially when those heroes are cops and military men. Luckily, her secret research source is always close by--her husband has served in the US Army, has been an EMT, and a fireman, a hunter, a trapper, and a number of other things he won't admit to in public.

Dana's small-town romantic suspense series set in Broslin Creek is based on her real life home in Pennsylvania, and has over one thousand positive reviews. Book one in the series, DEATHWATCH, is currently free.

She also writes an international romantic thriller series full of intrigue, danger and exotic locales, based on the investigators of the Civilian Personnel Recovery Unit. FORCED DISAPPEARANCE and FLASH FIRE (A Navy SEAL Romance) are the first two books in this series.

Kirkus Reviews calls her writing "compelling and honest." RT Book Review Magazine said, "Marton knows what makes a hero...her characters are sure to become reader favorites." Her writing has been acclaimed by critics, called, "gripping," "intense and chilling," "full of action," "a thrilling adventure," and wholeheartedly recommended to readers. Dana is the winner of the Daphne du Maurier Award of Excellence, the Readers' Choice Award, and Best Intrigue, among other awards. Her book, TALL, DARK, AND LETHAL was nominated for the prestigious Rita Award. DEATHSCAPE reached the #1 spot on Amazon's Romantic Suspense Bestseller list.

Beyond being a bestselling author of romantic suspense thrillers, Dana also writes a popular fantasy romance series, Hardstorm Saga. Book 1, RELUCTANT CONCUBINE, spent 6 weeks at #1 on Amazon's fantasy romance list.

When not writing, Dana loves to browse antique shops and enjoys working in her flower garden, while fighting her addictions to reading, garage sales, coffee and chocolate. If you know a good twelve-step program to help her with any of that, she'd be interested in hearing about it!

Keeping in touch with readers is Dana's favorite part of being an author. Please connect with her via her web site ( or her Facebook page (

Dana Marton is a master of creating fast-paced action romances set in exotic international locales. Think of Ludlum's Bourne series.

In Avenging Agent, hero Jake Tekla has recovered from the wounds he suffered in Guardian Agent (Agents Under Fire), the first book of the Agents Under Fire series. Now Jake is in Afghanistan, posing as a travel photographer. Actually, he's working under cover for the FBI, following leads to take down a corrupt Congressman before the Congressman can find a way to eliminate the threat of Jake and his two agent partners.

When Jake spots the rare vision of a beautiful blond running through the streets, being followed by a gang of thugs, he puts his mission on hold to help. Socialite Allison Myers is in Afghanistan to find her former fiance and bring him home safely, but together, Allison and Jake discover that the man Allison had once agreed to marry might not be the man she thought he was at all... and he may hold the key to toppling the Congressman's evil empire.

Be sure to start this book when you have a couple hours to read because you will not want to put it down. It's that good.

Jake chose to save Allison at the possible expense of his own mission, setting in motion a series of events that had me holding my breath and reading as fast as I could to see what happened on the next page. Intense! I really liked the ethics and virtue of Jake and Allison, the way they adapted and became a team, and the triumph of good over evil. Marton's writing is excellent, especially the way she gives the reader insight into the characters' motivations.

This book is romantic suspense light, or maybe extra light. I read a lot of romantic suspense/military ops bks and found the first bk in this series to be light. The premise is good, but the story was too short and the hero/heroine are thrown together for whorl wind suspense and then on the last page they kiss and decide they want an HEA. REALLY? Decided to try bk 2 thinking the first bk was the wind up and this one might be on its way to the home run. Not so.. once again, the story jumps right in with the suspense with too few pages and then the last few lines are the kiss and HEA. I'd rather have an equal balance of suspense with a romance. This series has likeable characters but would have potential with a better balance and a longer story. These books read more like a novella than an actual book.

Wow Dana Marton really knows how to pack a lot of power packed action and romance into a small space. She makes every single page count right up to the cliff hanger ending. Jake Tekla we met in the first book only he was in bad shape half starved and hurt. Gabe, Jake and Troy another guy we met in the first book are now a 3 man team working for the FBI. Jake is after secrets in Lahedeh this time. He's not sick and he's ready to go and out for blood. Allison in there looking for her missing fiance. She doesn't want to marry him anymore but he disappeared 5 months ago and no one seems to know anything. Jake's been watching her though. They share the same hotel and he's checking out everything and everyone. He ends up having to rescuing her from a bunch of locals and finding out she might be helpful to his operation but also finding himself very attracted to her. Allison is a heiriss of sorts owner of a huge company she's been struggling to prove she can handle the job. The two of them have to fight there way from baddies more than once while trying to find the answers they both need in the process falling in love. Allison has to learn she can handle anything but it's OK to have some help now and then and Jake learns to trust and that he's worthy of love. Action packed all the way through. This faced paced book packs a punch! Just watch out for the cliff hanger at the end !!! All i can say is it got me excited for the third and final book in this trio of books! I give Avenging Agent 5 out of 5 Modokker Book pick stars! To read a excerpt and check out everything Dana Marton click here [...]

In Avenging Agent, Jake is on an undercover mission for the FBI in a war-torn country. Allison is an heiress, on a personal, humanitarian quest and completely out of her element. They couldn't be more different and while Jake doesn't want to get involved with her, his conscious won't let him leave her in a dangerous environment alone. Soon, they discover they're fighting the same enemy. They join forces and as they become closer, their attraction grows. But they can only act on it if they stay alive.

Avenging Agent is an intriguing, multifaceted, complex story on various levels-all squeezed into a tight little package. Dana includes amazingly sharp vignettes of the story's Middle Eastern culture and how that affects the characters and their journey and explores an ethical and rather shocking topic I can't disclose due to story spoiler issues. The shift in Jake from dedicated undercover agent to a man who connects with Allison and begins to see a future beyond his isolated, detached lifestyle is poignant and very real.

Dana's writing is clean and swift. As a reader, I glided through the story, almost oblivious to the words themselves, but completely caught up in the characters and what would happen next. The twists Dana provides kept me guessing and, kept me turning pages. Near the end, when she hits you with the big "ah-ha", I was so impressed, I was grinning.
