This book takes place in West Chicago, where hatred and bigotry still exist in the present day. Here on the streets, semi-automatics now replace the chains and switchblades that terrorized the civilians in days past. Two predominant rival gangs demonstrate how their actions not only devour and destroy each other, but everyone who comes into their path. Old friends and new are affected in one way or another by the prejudice that plaques our society. Only through God’s love can they rid themselves of this cancer that has destroyed mankind for centuries.

Melody Ravert was born in 1961 and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, to parents who served in War World II. Although she has lived in various towns in both Anne Arundel and Baltimore Counties, Melody has resided in Maryland all her life.
She wrote her first book, "Shadow of Death" at the age of forty and in seven short years has written six books, three e-books, and numerous short stories and articles. She has started her own self-publishing company, and is a distributor for personalized children's books.
Recently nominated 'VIP Woman of the Year' by the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) 2009-2010, Melody Ravert is available for speaking engagements and writer's workshops.
Ms. Ravert has written several articles for publications and is an examiner for Examiner.com.

I usually hate novels that sequel, they seem so trite..however, I gave Melody Ravert's Avenging Sword a chance, since I enjoyed her first novel,Shadow of Death .. WELL I WAS WRONG! This so called sequel is better than the first. Ravert's prose style has gotten better with age. She fleshed out a storyline from her first novel and respun the tale into something engaging. Her narrative voice may sound preachy to some,but in this context of a Christian thriller-IT WORKS! I await the third book in this series with zest and wonderment, thinking what she might do with these characters next!(...)

I found Melody Ravert's second book Avenging Sword very powerful.I like how she mixed Christian aspect into her different characters. It showed how each character can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior. She treated each race in her book the same. I look forward to read her next book.

Another best seller book written by Melody. If you have read her first book Shadow of Death then you need to read book two. This one also grabs you at the seat of your pants . I read this book in one hour could not put it down. I love how she mixes all kinds of cultures in her book and all kinds of races. She writes so every one should get along not matter what race you are. I think we all need that. Its full of suspence, and wonderful Christian values thrown in. Am i going to read book 3 coming in the near future. YOU BET. Melody is destine to be the next Beverly Lewis in Christian writing. So i say Run dont walk to the nearest Barnes and Nobles, Amazon right here , or Publish American and get a copy of this book. Lets help my favorite Maryland author's dream of writing alive and support if you live in Md your local fellow writer. Cant wait for book 3.
