I usually hate novels that sequel, they seem so trite..however, I gave Melody Ravert's Avenging Sword a chance, since I enjoyed her first novel,Shadow of Death .. WELL I WAS WRONG! This so called sequel is better than the first. Ravert's prose style has gotten better with age. She fleshed out a storyline from her first novel and respun the tale into something engaging. Her narrative voice may sound preachy to some,but in this context of a Christian thriller-IT WORKS! I await the third book in this series with zest and wonderment, thinking what she might do with these characters next!

I found Melody Ravert's second book Avenging Sword very powerful.
I like how she mixed Christian aspect into her different characters. It showed how each character can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior. She treated each race in her book the same. I look forward to read her next book.

Another best seller book written by Melody. If you have read her first book Shadow of Death then you need to read book two. This one also grabs you at the seat of your pants . I read this book in one hour could not put it down. I love how she mixes all kinds of cultures in her book and all kinds of races. She writes so every one should get along not matter what race you are. I think we all need that. Its full of suspence, and wonderful Christian values thrown in. Am i going to read book 3 coming in the near future. YOU BET. Melody is destine to be the next Beverly Lewis in Christian writing. So i say Run dont walk to the nearest Barnes and Nobles, Amazon right here , or Publish American and get a copy of this book. Lets help my favorite Maryland author's dream of writing alive and support if you live in Md your local fellow writer. Cant wait for book 3.

Author Melody Ravert takes us on an insightful journey filled with many short chapters, each one telling another part of a different story line.

"Avenging Sword", a sequel to Shadow of Death, and the second book of a three book series, is a quick read that swiftly takes you into various parts of Ms. Ravert's character's lives, keeping you intrigued and turning each page in anticipation!

The characters are all very different, ranging from gang members and the lifestyle they possess, to a teacher, a waitress, lawyers, nurses, and even pastors. This author's display of so many different life styles is amazing. She takes you into the character's hearts and makes you feel sympathy for them and the problems they are facing in life.

Without giving away any of the amazing storylines, I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for heart-pumping adventures and at the same time, inspirational leading, with step-by-step instructions on how to receive the Lord Jesus Christ into your life as your personal Savior. More importantly, I recommend this book for any teenager considering becoming a gang member. This book has the harshness of life, including rape, without going into the gory details of it, yet it also contains the solemn promises of God all at the same time!
