This is a good sturdy flag.

One complaint: the section joints are plastic, not the metal that they appear to be in the picture.

They are in three pieces that fit together like a fishing rod.

This just arrived and overall looks like a good product.

The 3-section design is definitely a huge plus relative to one and two-section designs, if you need to bring the bike/trailer inside.

One complaint: the section joints are plastic, not the metal that they appear to be in the picture. I'll see how they hold up to daily use and report back.

EDIT: The plastic joints are holding up fine after several months. Still think they should be metal, but not as much of a problem as I feared.

There are three types of bike safety flags: one piece, two piece and three piece.
One piece works as a sefety flag but is practical for storage only if you're going to leave your bike/trike on the ground/floor when storing it.
Two piece works equaly well as a sarfety flag but reduces storage height by 2+ft.
Three piece is taller than the other two so works better as a safety flag and reduces to less than either making it even better for storage as well.

I bought a used InStep bicycle trailer and the person who sold it to me no longer had the safety flag. I took the trailer out once and decided it was just too dangerous not to have a flag.

So purchased this. When I received it, I simply cut the metal attachment off with a PVC cutter (I was unable to pull it out, probably glued in). It fit perfectly into the intended sleeve of the bike trailer and works just as it should!

UPDATE: 6 months of use

This flag has stood up well to use in our bike trailer. It gets knocked around on low-lying branches and hasn't broken or tattered. Even with our kids pulling it out and playing with it, it's stood up fine. Good quality. I'm very happy with this purchase.

The three section flag is tall, and reasonably sturdy. It is very reasonably priced, too! Initially I was afraid that the joint wasn't going to hold for the torque but it does. The metal joint also performed quite well despite the huge swings by an unsteady rider.

Perfect for my powered wheelchair! Easy to mount, great that it is in sections that can be removed. Perfect product!

It took some ingenuity to attach it as we used it on a motorized Jazzy scooter. But it looks nice and has stayed in place.

3 pieces, which I like, so I can make it shorter and it breaks down for storage and travel. Works just fine, I use it on a Sun Recumbent with a QR hub. Just fastened it under the QR mechanism. No problems.

There is only one problem with it. It comes in three pieces, which is great. BUT you have to use all three parts for it to work. The top part does not connect to the bottom part and thus you cannot make it shorter than the full extension.
