5.0 out of 5 stars MUCH Better Than K-Mart
Another review stated these pedals are "same quality as you can buy at K-Mart." WRONG. These are MUCH BETTER than ones from a big box store. The ones from a big box store are 100% resin...even the shaft or threads that screw into the crank. These pedals have a steel shaft that won't break. These pedals came stock on my Raleigh Mojave 2.0 All Terrain bike. Hey - I'm...

2.0 out of 5 stars Great at first, but did not last...
When I first bought these a few months back, they were great. Cheap price, seemingly sturdy, great feel when riding. Unfortunately, I ended up breaking these also. Same right pedal that I broke as the original pedals that came with my bike. I am just over 200 lbs, and I saw the other reviewer who said if he can't break them, no one can. Apparently he was wrong. YMMV, so...

If they'll withstand my weight, they'll withstand anything you can dish out.

I wear large basketball shoes most of the time but these pedals are nice and big, so no problem. This is a great climb-on-and-go pedal, no clips to worry about. The perfect casual urban/commuting/touring pedals. Right now I have them on my training bike in the basement. When the weather clears I'll be pounding the streets with them. The grip and control is very good due to the studs on the surface of the pedal. Plastic? Yes. Cheap? No! Inexspensive enough to buy a couple of pedals at a time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Improvement, November 9, 2010

The first time I bought replacement pedals for my hybrid bike I got the wrong dimension (1/2" instead of 9/16") and the second time I got "junior" pedals without realizing it. Luckily they started falling apart and now, at last, I think I've nailed it.

These are big and sturdy and so far they are working great. They also provide a much better platform when I have to stand up to pump up a steep hill.

My only caution is to tighten them pretty well by hand before applying a wrench. I have a feeling it would be very easy to cross-thread them if you were not careful.

Just that. For just a low cost replacement pedal, I'd suggest you look no further.

They were a nice comfortable pedal that didn't give me any trouble until the resin on the outside upper edge broke. But that was after a year of riding. Great pedal for the price!

When I put these on my bike my partner called them "milk crates" because they looked so much larger than her sleek clipless (and much, much more expensive) pedals. I don't care -- I have big feet and I feel very secure standing on these. The resin has taken a bit of a pummeling with my latest off-road adventures, but that's the beauty of these: At this price, I don't mind beating them up a little. They grip my shoes nicely too, my feet never slide around on them.

I had been using the stock pedals that came on her Trek before she upgraded, which quite stupidly only had cleats on one side and a very annoying tendency to spin so the cleats were facing the pavement. These have cleats (and reflectors) on both sides, which makes more sense to me.

The only bad thing was when I put them on immediately after receiving them I noticed a definite creaking/squeaking sound when pedaling. I removed them and added some all-purpose oil (which I guess you should do anyway) and the problem went away.

Everything should be this good quality at such a reasonable price.

This product looks like it would work great, but I ordered the wrong size for my bike. Make sure you know which kind you need!
