Good Product, Bad Marketing,

It appears that this is a good product that's vexed by some bad marketing by Avenir or Amazon (or both). First problem is that the bag is not 140 cubic inches, nor is it the 75 cubic inch capacity indicated on the bag's packaging. My measurements and math say that it's just over 100 cubic inches capacity; it's shape is a cylinder 4 inches across by 8 inches long (pi times the radius squared times the length equals the volume) making it 100.48 cubic inches in capacity. Second problem seems to be that the packaging doesn't indicate to insert the ends of the plastic liner into the pockets on the inside on either side of the zipper. This keeps the liner from sliding around and can be further secured in the pockets by some double sided tape or no-iron hem mending tape (I used some of the later and seems to work well). The third problem I noticed is that the "product features" section says: "Fits most bicycle disc brakes" and "Larger handle for better grip and torque". I do not see how that applies to a seat bag; a replacement brake lever, perhaps. On the positive side, this seat bag is well priced and performs it's intended function. Great for carrying small accessories like a pencil gauge, compact tool kit, compact first aid kit and a couple of cargo nets and bungee cords. I installed this seat bag to the front of my rear carrier rack, leaving plenty of room under the seat for the suspension post to work properly. This product should get more sales *if* it's marketed properly; I would have given it 5 stars, if not for the above problems.

This is a simple bag that can be mounted on a handlebar or seat. The one flaw is the inside plastic liner. It is supposed to keep the bag firm so that it can be opened easily, but the liner is too flexible and distorts with time. After 3 weeks it has gotten to the point where the liner is useless.

Good value,

This bag is just as you would expect. The only thing I don't like is the plastic liner, that doesn't always line up with the zipper. It is a good value, holds plenty of things and secures easily to the bike. I would buy this product again.

I was looking for something that was cheap but would get the job done as far a as a bag for my wife's bike. After reading product reviews I almost passed on this product because everybody commented about the plastic insert. My wife and I are biking enthusiasts who bike at least twice a week with our mountain bikes on the trails. The plastic insert HAS NOT been a problem. Don't get scared off from buying this bag. For the price you cannot beat it. pouch holds enough and is advertised correctly in description. If you are planning on using the bag for groceries or loading it up with a lot of weight I would pass on this bag and find something bigger and stronger. Otherwise a great buy and I am very satisfied!

Was looking for basic handlebar bag to throw in a few things for mountain biking.
This works fine and I find no faults with the product. It is not large and maxes out with a pair of riding gloves and long sleeve sport shirt.

I was just lookiing for a simple standard-shaped seat mounted bag for my bike, but all I could find was the functional but odd looking (to me) seat shaped ones. I wanted one like I had years ago, but I couldnt find one like it locally. The only thing I found locally shaped like what I wanted was made of leather and almost $100.00-! Even the nylon ones were up to $40.00+ at the bike shop and walmart didnt really have what I wanted either. Well spending a hundred bucks on a bag thats easily removed by a thief when the bikes locked up just doesnt make sense. Besides I just shouldnt have to spend that kind of money for something this simple, I dont need or want to pay for texas tanned boot leather. So I was glad to find the Avenir seat bag, reasonable price, fits and looks like I wanted and doesnt cost an arm and a leg. It takes a bit of patience to get the plastic insert correctly fitted inside, but once in right it stayed. I like this bag just fine, made of good quality nylon type material, velcro straps onto the seat and has a decent zipper. Nothing complicated but thats what I wanted. I dont think Id put a heavy bike chain in it as it might be hard on the straps, but thats about the only negative I can come up with - other than that its well worth the money I paid ($11.00 and change) and if needed I would buy another. Hang It From Your Brooks Saddle,

For those that seem to be having a difficult time figuring it out...here's how it's done. Unwrap the Lexan Internal Stiffener when you open the box. Turn it inside out. Inside the bag itself, you'll find slots that the stiffener slides into. Ta Da! It holds its shape. This under-the-seat bag was designed to hang under a saddle like a Brooks Heritage Saddles B17 Standard Aged Saddle - Men's or other saddles with a center or cross seat rail.
For those that say it doesn't hold much... I solemnly swear the following items were in this bag at the time photos were taken. A spare tube, a set of tire levers, an OnGuard Doberman 5028 Bicycle Coil Cable Lock, a folding tool as found in the Avenir Roll-Up Tool Kit, my cell phone and a Caselogic TBC-302 Ultra Compact Camera Case with Storage (Black). I needed the Kodak EasyShare C182 Digital Camera (Silver) to take the photos! How much room do you need? On the way home from Mickey D's, I hung my cell phone on a belt loop and put in a left-over apple pie - without it getting crushed. Again...how much room do you need?

My Jandd bag fell of my bike and I needed a replacement. This was cheaper, so I gave it a shot. The clasps are much better. Good quality for the price. I use it on my handlebars during long rides. Small--but big enough for lunch, sunblock, cash and a small camera.

I mounted this little bag on my handlebars for quick access to my phone, Ipod and snacks while on rides between five to ten miles. The plastic liner took a little creativity to hold the bag's shape while still leaving an access space to the goodies inside. This was worth the effort because the bag has a greater capacity and easier access to particular items in side.

Perfect item for my needs. I mounted it on my handle bars of my tricycle and didn't need to put in the liner and still works great for me.
