When I purchased a used bike, I was cleaning it up when I noticed - gasp - a bent skewer. Fearing the worst, I examined the hub and ascertained the damage was to the skewer only. I quickly began plotting a resolution - when I happened across this product. A front quick release skewer? Yes! Low cost? Yes! Through the magic of the internet, it was hear before I knew it, and I am now happily riding on it. It locks my wheel into the dropout efficiently and does what a quick release skewer does. Don't hesitate to get one if you need a quick release for your front wheel.

I bought this to replace my stolen quick-release. My wheel was locked to my frame. Why the person stole this is beyond me, but thanks to that person, I wrote this review.
I own a Gary Fisher mountain bike with 26" wheels. It fits, and does what it is supposed to do. As far as aesthetics, it is not very streamlined, and it does not look like high quality. The black part in the picture is a piece of plastic. I have only had it for 1 month, and so far it seems great... even if it does not match the other quick release on my bike. It would probably fit most bicycles... though it's probably too long for road bikes.
