5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a full CD, August 18, 2000
This review is from: Average Day (Audio CD)
AS most of us who have the Lost And Found EP, I've been wondering "When are these guys gonna release a full CD?" Well, now they finally have and it's everything and more that I expected. "About To Be" and "Liar" completely rock out. "Shattered" is a great song that starts out slow and slowly builds up. They re-recorded "Lost And Found" and "Opportunity" and the title track is a great first single. The best song and the most different on the CD is the last one, "Slipped Away", with a beautiful panio line, great lyrics, and perfect guitar, the song is a sure bet along with all the other songs on the CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not an average album by Aztek Trip, March 6, 2002

This review is from: Average Day (Audio CD)
I was lucky enough to buy their cd and I have become a fan of their music. The songs are well written rock tunes with a couple sounding like Green Day(which is a complement). Some songs are much slower, others more intense so you get just about everything you could want in a rock album. "Average Day", "Mesmerized" and "Slipped Away" alone would make this a album worth having.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Dandy, September 21, 2001
This review is from: Average Day (Audio CD)
These boys from Allentown PA know how to crank it up, but do so without going over the edge into oblivion. Hook-laden, power packed rock and roll, Average Day would have been huge in the early 90's when this style was in fashion. It's not grunge, but a deliciously crunchy power alterna-pop. The variety on the album, from shameless pop, to nearly hardcore punk rock to power ballads allows this disc to bear up well after repeated listenings. A dandy.

5.0 out of 5 stars A stunning CD from a little known band..., December 18, 2000

I recently saw Aztek Trip live in concert. Two words to describe my thoughts..."Simply amazing." Aztek Trip is not a very well known band, but they have the beautiful harmonies and lyrics coupled with some grinding guitars when necessary that should rocket them to the top if they get played often enough. From the great guitar and flow of "Average Day" and "Opportunity", the calm to energetic variation of "Shattered", and my favorite track, the simply beautiful "Slipped Away", this CD is a must buy for fans of any kind of rock, be it pop, punk, or hard. This is one of the closest CDs I've found to perfection in recent years.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT CD, September 4, 2000
This review is from: Average Day (Audio CD)
As soon as the CD was released, I bought it. This is by far the best CD I have ever heard in a long time. Ever since I saw them live, I bought their EP, and have been listening to it steadily for almost a year now. It's about time they released some new material; not that I'm unhappy about it. This full-length CD is by far the best collection of songs I have heard from the band, and apparently everyone else in my area does, since they've played at sold-out local concerts and are played on the radio almost every day in CT. This CD is a must-have for any rock or alternative fan. This CD should be in everyone's CD collection, because of Aztek Trip's sheer music brilliance and talent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, August 12, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Average Day (Audio CD)
Aztek Trip's first release is a MUST HAVE for all Modern/Alt Rock fans. Their sound reminds me a lot of Fuel (the are from the same town I believe). This CD hits you with strong guitar, sweet drumming (none of that boring background steady rhythm crap), and great vocals. Give it a month or two and this album will be on top of the charts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally a band with their own sound!, August 12, 2000

For months all I have been hearing on my local radio station what the band's song "Beautiful." This song was so awesome. It had it's own original song. I am an avid music listener and I have a very diverse collection of music. Several times I hear a new song and can relate it another group. But when I heard "Beautiful" it took me by such surprise that their music had an original sound. And everytime I went to my mall, I couldn't find the cd. Then just recently I went to my local Best Buy to get a stereo for my car, and as I entered the store there was a band playing there. At first I didn't recongize who they were, but when I heard "Beautiful," I immediately realized it was Azteck Trip. So I listened, and they rocked, and I bought their latest cd "Average Day." I listened to the cd the entire way home, and at home. Their own style of music is awesome. It blends the best of rock: easy to recognize drum beats, guitar riffs, soft beginnings with hard finishes to their songs. And to top it all off, the vocals of the lead singer are unbelievable. You cannot find anything like these guys. The cd is soothing and gets me psyched up all at the same time. I recommend this cd to anyone who enjoys classic and modern rock. My friends and I can just relate to these songs perfectly. And that is why I bought it. But I must give thanks to our local radio station for playing them first. They had the balls to play them with groups like Creed and Goo Goo Dolls and Metallica. And I will definitely be listening to Azteck Trip much more than other bands just because they are one of a kind. This is a buy that you should have if you call yourself the avid music listener.
