Besides my cookbooks though, I was at a loss of what to use these for. There are not many items that I have that I have a need for a "permanent" stickynote, perhaps photo albums or craft notebooks but I don't have too many of those. Overall I thought the product was good for what I used it for but not a "must have" staple in office supplies.
When I tried to reposition the tabs immediately after applying them, the tab on the BH&G paperback lost quite a bit of its tack, and had clearly picked up some of the surface of the paper itself. None of the others had any problem.
After one week:
- The BH&G paperback tab is repositionable, but the tab has picked up small bits of ink from the text, and has clearly lost some stick.
- The Moosewood tab can be carefully peeled off, with no issues.
- The Joy tab can be carefully peeled off, with no issues (though it does seem to have some static cling for the page)
- The Cooks's tab can be easily peeled off, with no issues.
I'll continue the experiment, but it looks like the action of the tab depends on the age and quality of the paper it's stuck to, and perhaps also on the printing process by which the ink was applied.Read more ›
Now that I see how useful these Note Tabs can be, I plan to try other colors and sizes in this cookbook project of mine. The tabs feel very sturdy and durable, the note section allows me to read any portion of the recipe under the note and I like that I can separate the note into 4 different pieces. I'll probably come up with a code where a particular color represents a specific type of recipe. What a great find these Note Tabs were.
Each segment of four connected stickies consists of three that are just pieces of flexible plastic with a sticky backing, while the fourth one has a tab attached it, for use as a clearly visible bookmark/tab. The tab itself does not have any adhesive attached to it.
Is this description a little confusing? I might expect so. Apparently, the Avery company wanted this particular product to be more versatile than other Avery products.
To tear off each sticky, that is, to tear along the perforated region, you need to tug purposefully and deliberately. This leaves the user with the option of creating a longer sticky. Here, the longer sticky is created by ripping off a segment consisting of two contiguous stickies, or a segment consisting of three contiguous stickies.
The container (bag) does not have a re-sealable zipper. This is in contrast to other Avery products, which do have a re-sealable zipper. Why does this particular product not rate a re-sealable zipper?
LIST OF ADVANTAGES. (1) The front surface is frosted, enabling the surface to be a good medium for writing with a pencil, as well as with a pen. (2) A very narrow border on the back lacks any sticky surface, enabling the user to easily pry the sticky off of your document with a fingernail.Read more ›

These tabs are quite helpful with organizing ecause they're removable. Rather that having to "white-out" or rename a file; all you need to do is reposition the label. Read morePublished on February 18, 2011 by New grandmother

Pros: I love the see-through aspect and the ability to write on the tabs. I also like the hard plastic tabs and the fact that these tabs don't come off as easily as some tabs. Read morePublished on April 10, 2010 by S. Reader
