4.0 out of 5 stars Avery Design Pro 5.0
Bought this program because I was continually having problems with other programs I used to make business cards, address labels, and especially labels for CD's. I could never get them to align properly on Avery media, no matter what. They would always turn out off kilter, which made the labels look less than professional. With Design Pro 5.0, the first time I tried to...

I never used any other label maker so I cannot compare it. I found it simple yet it has 1 serious limitation: its inability to create very small text. Labels are frequently small. I never imagined that a label maker would not include a mechanism by which you can insert tiny text. I cannot add "external use only" or "5ml" to my label without it being as large as any of the...

Bought this program because I was continually having problems with other programs I used to make business cards, address labels, and especially labels for CD's. I could never get them to align properly on Avery media, no matter what. They would always turn out off kilter, which made the labels look less than professional. With Design Pro 5.0, the first time I tried to make CD labels, Viola!! - perfectly centered. I consider this an extremely good buy. Only one minor drawback, doesn't have as many designs available as some other programs, but that is a minor price to pay.

Easy to get started, interfaces well with printer and Windows XP. Avery did a great job in creating this simple user interface. I have been using it to create a wide variety of product, address, and shipping labels. All of the Avery template-to-printer accuracies were outstanding. I am using a Brother MFC8840DM laser printer (another great product).

I have used other labeling programs, including the Word label feature, and find the ADP5.0 to be far superior in every regard.

I never imagined that a label maker would not include a mechanism by which you can insert tiny text. I cannot add "external use only" or "5ml" to my label without it being as large as any of the other writing on it. This product is therefore not a complete solution for me to make my labels.

I've been using the limited version for years and am so excited to now have the full version. I can do so many things with this software that I'm the one people go to for business cards, invitations, labels, etc...

I like this program. I have to make labels for homemade products that i make and need professional looking labels for that. I can make a large variety of different labals with this. There are other features that I haven't tried yet. But I'll be trying them out. I couldn't believe the large amount of photo paper they included. I'm very happy with this purchase.

A good product that integrates the many Avery labels. Have used their products for years. Wish it was easier to set up a new label design. Price remains good for this latest version from Avery.

Avery Design Pro 5.0 does anything you could ever think of with labels, and even handles label sheets that are not made by the company itself.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not able to load program on computer, November 15, 2007
This review is from: Avery Design Pro Deluxe 5.0 (CD-ROM)
I have used Avery Design pro for a few years already and really did like the things it did.
However - for some unknown reason the old (free) program I was using quit working. It was not a demo it came on a disc that I got inside of Avery products I purchased some years ago.
Long story short....The new program will not install.
After many weeks of working with Avery and Microsoft the only explination is - my installer has a problem.

Funny thing is - I have loaded other programs and they worked fine.
The last possible cure mentioned so far is - DUMP THE SYSTEM completely and reboot. That sounds drastic to me so I will keep trying to repair the problem.
Too bad for these delays.
I already have a folder full of saved short cuts with Avery. My wife's quilt club needs some of these things done again. Have no way to replace them without going through it with a picture program that does not work very well.
Frustrated
Richard M.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, November 12, 2007

Although I have only used the program for labels so far, I have been quite pleased with the results. It is easy to use and the manual is well written. Also, when you register with Avery, you will receive special upgrades to download. It is worth the investment.
