Ok here is a suggestion on this product. When you get them go to the website noted on the package and download the FREE designpro software. This will allow you to create the labels a lot easier then if you do it with the template in office word. I did it this way and got labels that are beautiful and very easy to install using my old neato aplicator device.

Product performs as expected. Works well for labeling. Printing and line-up are good and stick well to disks. Will purchase again.

For a long time, I have been using these Avery CD Labels for my CD's and DVD's. For perfect labels every time, I use the FREE Avery Software for Avery Labels. To find these just type avery.com and then go to Templates and Software. Or you can type in Avery DesignPro for PC. Then you can go to the Avery webpage to download the label software. There are also templates direct from Avery that allow you to print the Avery Labels directly from MS Word.

For me personally, I use the DesignPro (by Avery) it is a standalone software. I save my favorite CD labels as a template and use them over and over again.

Summary: These Avery Labels are so easy to apply and they are of the highest quality.

If anyone has any questions about the Avery DesignPro link or how to download it, just contact me in the discussion area and I will answer.

Like another reviewer, I received CD Labels NOT the DVD Labels that were pictured. I called Avery and they confirmed that the product number (8692) is only for paper CD Labels, and that DVD labels are sold under product number (8962). I am returning these because Avery advised that the CD labels will not stand up to the additional heat generated by DVD players.

I have rated this one star, because I have no need for CD labels. The rating is for Amazon's internet display which is misleading, not the product which I assume works well as a CD label. If that is what you are looking for, it may be fine for that limited use.

I hope that this review will spare others the inconvenience of having to return the item.

I purchased two packs of these to label a large family home movie DVD project I was working on. It was very easy to find the template in Microsoft Word and print out onto the labels. I did not have any that got stuck in my printer, and none of the ink smeared. They are also thick enough so that if you have a majority of the label white the labels/writing on the CD/DVD underneath do not show through.

I make labels all the time for DVDs and people always think they are professionally done. I love the ease that Avery products give you in creating what you want.

Purchased these to use at my office for CD's containing info that will rarely be looked up. The Microsoft Word Template allows you to do basic designs, eg, grapics, text, dates. For more advance designs I'd recommend you find someone who is a word wizard or perhaps checking into the design pro software on the avery website. Labels, when peeled off, had a bit of a curve to them which may give some users issues for applying. I don't have an applicator and was able to do a fine job at centering the label. These also come with the jewel case edge labels, I did not use these, but they may be handy for some.

If you are a designer using the templates on a Mac or any Adobe software do not buy this product. Finding and downloading the templates is next to impossible and when you finally get them and design the CDs you export as a PDF and the designs disappear. Avery products are not made to design yourself.

Some folks say that these labels will peel after a while. I have been using them for many years and have never had one peel off.
Like anything else, if you prepare it correctly it will work.
I clean every CD with a plastic lens cleaner before I apply the label.

Was exactly what I expected it to be. Ordered the 100 count pack and also ordered one of this 40 count as back up in case the larger count was not what I wanted. (It was a different number.) Turns out they are both the same, will be ordering the 100 count in the future.
