1.0 out of 5 stars Worthless
These so-called magnetic sheets from Avery are worthless. I printed out a full pack of sheets with our Relay For Life team logo and placed a couple on the fridge. In less than a week they were curled and lifting at the corners. This is not a good product. The Staples variety is much better, thicker and with a glossy finish. Unfortunately I purchased two packs of these...

4.0 out of 5 stars Used for "Save the Date", August 7, 2010

This review is from: Avery Magnet Sheets, 8.5 x 11 Inches, White, 5 Pack (03270) (Office Product)
My fiance and I purchased these magnet sheets to use for our wedding "Save the Date." Though the product isn't perfect (more on this in a moment) it sure beats the alternative which would have been paying at least 4 times the price to have the magnet made professionally. Additionally, an obvious benefit to creating projects on your own is the large amount of creativity your allowed. My fiance and I included a professionally taken photo on our "Save the Date" and were able to fit 6 of them to a page. Such a magnet done professionally would have cost at least $2 per 3"x4" magnet, whereas doing it ourselves costs approximately .40 cents per magnet.

About the product: it's very easy to use. I would advise feeding one sheet at a time to make sure your printer doesn't take more than one sheet at a time (they are magnetic after all). The print comes out beautifully and dries pretty quickly (we gave ours about 10 minutes just to be safe) and cuts pretty easily.

The downside: a small handful of recipients told us that the edges bent slightly and never stuck completely to their refrigerator. It was secure on the fridge, but not completely flat. Another downside (one I only found out about because we put the wrong address and the magnet was returned to us) was that the ink smudged a little bit on the magnet. We're hoping this was just an anomaly but we're still investigating. It wasn't awful, but it was noticeable.

Bottom line, the product isn't perfect but its the best out there if you want to do it yourself. For us, we spent about $45 to make 120 magnets. Had we got them done professionally, it would have easily cost us $240+

We use these to create our own personalized decorations for our cabin doors on cruises. They stick very well and the print quality is excellent. Tested them on refrigerator and they stick well there also. You need to use a very sharp, sturdy pair of scissors to cut them, however.

These magnets worked out fantastic for our wedding Save the Dates. We designed our magnets and printed them on our Canon printer. Great quality and good magnetic strength.

I'm so happy to find this product on Amazon! I used to buy it at Target and Walmart, but they do not carry it anymore. Every year, I use this magnetic paper to print out the school year calendar and stick it to the fridge. I use it for sports schedules and emergency contact information as well. I also recently printed out directions for all the baking mixes I use regularly along with measurement conversions so I wouldn't have to go hunting for them. It sticks incredibly well to our fridge and is one of the most useful items in my household. Highly recommended!

2.0 out of 5 stars Thin, February 15, 2008
these are much thinner than what i am used to. they did not work for the project that i intended them for. yes, they will stick to a metal surface but it does not take much for them to fall off. they barely support their own weight.

1.0 out of 5 stars No good...Staples brand WAY better, November 23, 2011
This review is from: Avery Magnet Sheets, 8.5 x 11 Inches, White, 5 Pack (03270) (Office Product)
I bought these and was very disappointed. The finish is like printing pictures on regular copy paper...quality is severely lacking. In addition, they stick ok to sheet metal, but not as well to finished surfaces like refrigerators.

Another comment mentioned Staples brand magnet sheets and they are far superior. They stick better and have a glossy, photo paper like finish. However, they do cost more...4 sheets for 10 dollars at my local store. IMO, well worth it because the picture/print quality was a hundred times better. Avery ended up being a waste of money because once I printed on the Staples brand, I threw out all the Avery prints.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works ok..., November 18, 2010

I bought these to print out pictures, cut them up into puzzle pieces, and place them on a magnetic rectangle so they can be rearranged into the right places. The magnet they are placed on is pretty substantial (at least the thickness of all 5 sheets of this paper), and the puzzle pieces stick fine when the whole thing is lying on a table, but when I lift it up sometimes the pieces fall off!

I tried sticking a piece on my fridge and it wouldn't stay--and the packaging says it will stick AND hold up a piece of paper on most metal surfaces. I couldn't get it to stick at all! And the magnetic paper just stuck on a good magnet doesn't even stay very well when it's lifted off the table so that gravity is affecting the pieces. Overall, it works fine for my purposes because the puzzles are meant to stay on a table, but I just can't see any use for them beyond that.

1.0 out of 5 stars These are terrible!, February 17, 2011

I purchased these for storing my Spellbinders cutting dies. I thought I could save some money by buying these and cutting them to the size I required rather than buying the magnetic sheet offered with the storage system I did buy...what a waste of money!

Although there were a couple of bad reviews (which can always be expected with any product), most were quite positive...I am VERY disappointed. One reviewer said these sheets would not support themselves...they are right! They are more flimsy than cheap, lightweight cardstock! In fact, they buckle under their own weight.

I put these sheets in a clear plastic sleeve in a binder with my spellbinders dies (not really) stuck to them. My dies don't stay in place when I flip through the pages! Now, I am going to buck up and buy the magnetic sheets I should have bought originally!

The magnet sheets work relatively well, but aren't great by any means. The sheets are a bit flimsy, so it's sometimes difficult to pick up the magnet from a magnetic surface. Also have to be careful about smudging right after printing.

Overall a suitable-enough and certainly cheaper alternative to professional printing, though with expectably diminished quality as well.
