I bought these to label the types of tea stored in new plastic containers (OXO Good Grips 10-Piece POP Container Set). The containers were clean and dry when I applied the labels. Within 12 hours, the labels started to pull away on the sides. My apartment is air-conditioned so I can't blame humidity, and the labels were applied with light pressure to the smooth sides of the plastic containers.

I haven't tried these on paper, but wanted to warn anyone interested in labeling plastic containers that they may want to consider other removable labels.

When you look at these, the first thing that you think of is the classic Post-It note. These, though, are different. In a Post-It, the adhesive is located in a relatively thin strip across the top of the pad, with the rest of the paper being uncoated. Eventually, they tend to curl-up and work loose. The Avery Removable Labels have adhesive across the entire back, with only a small tab being left uncoated. There's nothing to curl up except for the tab, and that can be removed along a perforated line. The result is that the entire thing stays stuck where you want it until you remove it.

I'm going to start using these in files in lieu of Post-It's. Currently, I'll have an edge of a Post-It sticking out to call attention to something. Over time, I've had a problem with them falling off. With these guys, I can have the tab poking out, but the whole rest of the label (with my scribbled notes) will stay stuck until I want to peel it off. To make the note semi-permanent, all I need to do is pull the tab off and there's nothing left to bump...I have to work my nail under a corner to peel it off.

Pick up a pack or two and try them out.

I use the Moleskine Vertical Weekly Planner and these stickers are absolutely perfect for my needs. Easy to apply and remove, the stickers are the exact size of a day in the Moleskine, so that if a day gets too messy and crowded with things crossed out and moved around, I can use one of these stickers to cover the day and rewrite what I'm doing. That's what I use these stickers for. I'm sure there are other possible uses. They seem to be well made and well designed and when I run out I will buy more for sure.

I really like these labels. I love that they are 80% recycled paper. Unlike some recycled paper products I've used, they have a nice texture and good colors. I like the more subdued colors. The green is a chartreuse, but it isn't a neon chartreuse like the other removable notes.

Making them fully adhesive is great. The others, with the small strip of adhesive on one edge, tended to curl up and pull loose. I have some removable paper tape from a Japanese stationary store that is very handy because of the fully adhesive back. I couldn't easily use that tape as a book mark, because I had a sticky surface sticking out of the book. If I wanted to be able to easily lift the tape, or use it as a book mark, I had to fold over one end. These labels have a small plain paper tab to solve those problems. The tab even has a clean edge perforation so it can be easily removed if you don't need it. That is a brilliant little touch.

Having the fully adhesive back also makes this an excellent tool as a temporary tape to use when doing art and layout projects. When I need to tape, or glue, two parts together, I like to use temporary tape to get it perfectly aligned before I add the permanent adhesive. I always had to fold over the end of each piece of tape to make it easy to get back up when I was finished, but the tab takes care of that issue.

-----Special note for folks who like Origami:-----
I use removable paper tape when building modular origami projects.

Sometimes assembly of complex pieces is very difficult as the parts slip apart while you are building it. Modular origami pieces are designed to hook together tightly enough to stay together when the piece is complete, but getting them to that point is sometimes a real challenge.

Well, I struggled a bit to write a review for these restickable labels. I couldn't really see why they needed to be made -after all they aren't so much different from a lot of other similar items on the market. They are basically thin post-it notes with adhesive along the entire back of the paper, instead of just the top third.

What do the labels do well? They are very easy to pull off and restick. They also seem to maintain the adhesive over multiple uses over multiple days. I am not sure why you would need to label something and then remove and restick it several times, but if you needed to, you could. (Perhaps they would find a more common use in the office, where one might want to temporarily label a file until the final file name could be determined?)

Having both post-it notes and this product, I find that I don't use the labels any more than I would post-it notes, but if I needed to label something that I didn't want to peel/fall off by mistake, then I would use the labels. For example, sometimes when I use a post-it note and stick it vertically on something it curls up at the edges, and eventually falls off. In this case I might choose the label instead because there is no way that the label would fall off. On the other hand, as post-it notes are generally bigger, if I just wanted to leave a casual note for myself or someone else, then I would probably use a post-it note instead.

A nice product but not an essential one; it works just as intended.
