5.0 out of 5 stars Worked great on CDs, DVDs, and blu-rays
Some of the other reviews of this item make no sense and are factually incorrect when they say that these can not be used on DVDs. I just used them on some CDs, DVDs, and blu-rays tonight and they worked great on all three.
I will say that they are a bit see-through, so some discs might have stuff that shows through. For example, my blu-ray discs had some lines...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as pictured, contains only 40 CD labels, not for DVDs
Package rec'd is different from photo, yet has Avery 5692 product number on it. Avery 5692 is CD only, not CD/DVD as in photo. Package contains only 40 CD labels, not 80 as advertised. You get 80 spline labels.

For example, my blu-ray discs had some lines on them for hand writing and those lines show through these labels. My solution was to put graphics on the label over the parts that would show through. It worked very well.
I've got a black and white laser printer and experienced great results. I tried making labels with Nero and Microsoft Word, but I'll advise you to skip those and go straight to Avery's website, which is written on the packaging, and make labels there. You do it right in the browser for free and it worked way better than the other methods I tried.

4.0 out of 5 stars As Advertised, May 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I buy a lot of DVDs for my kids, however I dont have the space to keep the covers for all of them, so I use a Case Logic DVD binder. By doing this I loose the "visual" of what the movie is about or what characters are in it because most of the new DVD labels (on the actual DVD) just has the name and I noticed that my kids stopped watching a lot of their favorite movies because they couldn't tell what was what. So I decide to make the labels. I love it! The software (that you can download form Avery.com) allows you to do so many things and the colors are so vivid, it looks like the original.

We use the product for making labels to hand out to the public for photos they have requested. Only issue is that if you try to attach label too quickly, they can wrinkle.

1.0 out of 5 stars Avery or Amazon guilty of false advertising?, April 28, 2009
This review is from: Avery White CD Labels for Laser Printers, 40 Disc Labels and 80 Spine Labels (5692) (Office Product)
Similar to Bill from Fort Wayne, I ordered what I thought were CD -and- DVD labels, product number 5698. Amazon's picture very clearly shows this product to be for CD and DVD, with the part number 5698 clear as day. The product I received was indeed 5698, but the package doesn't match the Amazon photo. These (5698) are CD -only- labels. I called Avery and the CSR said that Avery no longer has a Laser-printer-compatible label for DVDs (it was discontinued years ago, she said), and that the Amazon web site must be wrong. It's hard to believe somebody at Amazon is using Photoshop to alter the product appearances, and is misrepresenting the product description! That doesn't make sense. I think Avery screwed up and is allowing Amazon to take the heat and field the complaints.
